- So while the organization is struggling to cut costs, the typical software delivery environment only contributes to the problem of skyrocketing IT costs. The average software delivery organization manages hundreds or thousands of projects across multiple teams, using a diverse set tools. Most organizations have team environments that have grown organically in upredictable ways, with multiple methods and technologies in place to manage requirements, work items, source code, project plans and test assets across different projects and teams. Multiple tools would not be a problem if the tools could share data and workflows. The fact is, most software delivery tools were never designed to share information across the software lifecycle. The vast majority of these solutions keep their data locked up behind proprietary APIs, with little to no project visibility.
