AGENDA/PURPOSE OF THE PRESENTATION
 Welcome to the module on Understanding Sexual Harassment at Workplace. In
this module we will earn what sexual harassment is, with special emphasis on
harassment at workplace.
 You will learn about the types of sexual harassment, consequences of
harassment and how to file a complaint against it.
 At the end of the course you will understand :-
•What sexual harassment at workplace is?
•Types of sexual harassment?
•What you can and should do when you are harassed?

DEFINITIONOF SEXUAL HARASSMENT
A form of sex discrimination that involves unwelcomed sexual
advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical
conduct of a sexual nature when:
 Submission to or rejection of such conduct is made either explicitly or
implicitly a term or condition of a person’s job, pay, or career
 Submission to or rejection of such conduct by a person is used as a
basis for career or employment decisions affecting that person
 Such conduct has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering
with an individual’s performance or creates an intimidating, hostile
 Offensive working environment

o Placing conditions on a person’s job
or terms of employment in return for
sexual favors

benefits in exchange for sexual favors
•Offensive, unwanted, and unsolicited
comments and behaviors of a sexual nature
• Most prevalent form of sexual harassment
in the Army
