Air Energi delivers Talent Acquisition services for oil and gas clients located in every region across the world, which
requires specialist knowledge and experience.
We provide high-quality support to client operations not just in mature markets but also more remote, less well-
developed locations becoming prominent within the global energy supply chain, such as Papua New Guinea, Iraq and
East Africa.

Search
With a severe skills shortage in the industry, traditional contingent recruitment
processes will not always succeed. Clients who require senior executive candidates,
or those with niche skills, can retain Air Energi’s expert Search team. Our Search

to each assignment.
Our research teams identify the potential talent pool, which can be presented
using our in-house Talent Mapping software. Following initial approaches,
employer perception studies and salary benchmarking, we create a long list of

Our shortlist is then presented following in-depth interviews, which can include

Case Study - ENI
Air Energi combines its global reach and local knowledge to deliver an LNG
permanent recruitment campaign for world-leading IOC
Background
Eni S.p.A. is an Italian multinational oil and gas company headquartered in Rome. Eni has operations in 79 countries
and upstream projects ongoing across the world. Its market value is 68 billion Euros (US$ 90 billion), as of August 2013.
Air Energi has been working with Eni IRL (Eni’s global resourcing function, based in the UK) since 2011, identifying the
best candidates in the market for LNG and non-LNG campaigns.
Challenge
In October 2013, Eni IRL tasked Air Energi with the recruitment of over thirty LNG specialists based in Australia who
would be interested in permanent assignments in Europe and the USA.
Timescales were tight for delivery of this niche campaign. Eni IRL requested that at least fifty candidates were identified
by the end of October 2013. They intended to travel to Perth and Brisbane to interview these candidates in December
2013.
Air Energi Solution
Due to the demanding nature of the project; timescales, time differences, niche requirements, relocation and client
investment; all client management was handled by a designated Air Energi Account Manager, based in the UK.
Air Energi adopted a global approach to the campaign, simultaneously engaging its recruitment teams in the UK, Perth
and Brisbane to utilise their in-depth local market knowledge and regional LNG expertise.
Employing specialist permanent recruiters who had previous experience of working on Eni LNG projects and were based
in Eni’s selected interview locations; Air Energi could offer Eni a global picture of the LNG candidate market and had the
resources to deliver in the short time period allowed.
Result
Through this joined up approach, Air Energi issued 94 fully qualified candidate CVs within a two week time period
compared with a combined total of 51 by Eni’s two other suppliers.
Air Energi arranged 36 interviews compared with a combined total of 13 from the other suppliers. Eni intend to issue Air
Energi 20 offers from a total of 28.
Eni IRL has now proposed another LNG campaign centred in Houston and has indicated that Air Energi will be selected
as a key supplier.

Case Study - SEIC
Sakhalin Energy Investment Company (SEIC) insource and Managed Service Provider
(MSP) solution
Background
SEIC is developing the Piltun-Astokhskoye oil field and the Lunskoye gas field off the north-eastern coast of Sakhalin
Island, Russia. Its activities include production, transportation, processing, and marketing of oil and natural gas.
SEIC needed to increase their workforce rapidly to ensure they delivered their projects on time and within budget. They
also needed to bolster their project teams with both international and local talent.
Challenge
SEIC required high volumes of highly specialised and experienced candidates to fulfill roles across multiple disciplines
within their corporate functions and projects. This posed a particular challenge as there is a limited talent pool for these
candidates and Sakhalin Island is a challenging location to attract both local and international talent due to its climate
and remote location.
Air Energi Solution
Air Energi consulted with SEIC to provide a tailored insource and Managed Service Provider (MSP) solution, which
included the following:
On-site insource consultant - Air Energi provided an insourced dedicated recruitment consultant, with specific upstream
oil and gas recruitment expertise, to work in and alongside SEIC’s existing team of HR recruiters and line managers. Our
insourced consultant was able to support in the development of their recruitment strategies and consult in pre and post
workforce planning for projects to ensure effective delivery.
Process Driven Approach – Air Energi worked with the senior HR management team to establish an efficient and robust
recruitment process, capable of handling large volumes of candidates and job requirements from a standing start. The
recruitment process included candidate screening, interview management, candidate feedback as well as making offers,
on-boarding candidates and mobilisation.
Vendor Management –Air Energi engaged with the existing SEIC supply chain for tier I and II suppliers and established
a supplier skills matrix against SEIC’s job requirements to ensure they provided suitable candidates with upstream/
offshore/LNG experience. As part of our on-going vendor management we also developed a process to measure
suppliers performance to make certain they delivered the best candidates to SEIC.
Client Management – Developing a close relationship with the discipline hiring managers was essential to ensuring
successful project delivery. Air Energi’s approach dramatically increased the number of new hires for the project and
decreased the time to hire by 80% in certain areas of the business.
Result
Air Energi continues to provide a successful insource and MSP solution to SEIC to deliver large volumes of high quality,
talented candidates for their major projects.

Search With a severe skills shortage in the industry, traditional contingent recruitment processes will not always succeed. Clients who require senior executive candidates, or those with niche skills, can retain Air Energi’s expert Search team.   • 10. © Air Energi 20148 www.airenergi.com Case Study - ENI Air Energi combines its global reach and local knowledge to deliver an LNG permanent recruitment campaign for world-leading IOC Background Eni S.p.A. is an Italian multinational oil and gas company headquartered in Rome. Eni has operations in 79 countries and upstream projects ongoing across the world. Its market value is 68 billion Euros (US$ 90 billion), as of August 2013. Air Energi has been working with Eni IRL (Eni’s global resourcing function, based in the UK) since 2011, identifying the best candidates in the market for LNG and non-LNG campaigns. Challenge In October 2013, Eni IRL tasked Air Energi with the recruitment of over thirty LNG specialists based in Australia who would be interested in permanent assignments in Europe and the USA. Timescales were tight for delivery of this niche campaign. Eni IRL requested that at least fifty candidates were identified by the end of October 2013. They intended to travel to Perth and Brisbane to interview these candidates in December 2013. Air Energi Solution Due to the demanding nature of the project; timescales, time differences, niche requirements, relocation and client investment; all client management was handled by a designated Air Energi Account Manager, based in the UK. Air Energi adopted a global approach to the campaign, simultaneously engaging its recruitment teams in the UK, Perth and Brisbane to utilise their in-depth local market knowledge and regional LNG expertise. Employing specialist permanent recruiters who had previous experience of working on Eni LNG projects and were based in Eni’s selected interview locations; Air Energi could offer Eni a global picture of the LNG candidate market and had the resources to deliver in the short time period allowed. Result Through this joined up approach, Air Energi issued 94 fully qualified candidate CVs within a two week time period compared with a combined total of 51 by Eni’s two other suppliers. Air Energi arranged 36 interviews compared with a combined total of 13 from the other suppliers. Eni intend to issue Air Energi 20 offers from a total of 28. Eni IRL has now proposed another LNG campaign centred in Houston and has indicated that Air Energi will be selected as a key supplier.
  • 11. 9© Air Energi 2014 www.airenergi.com Case Study - SEIC Sakhalin Energy Investment Company (SEIC) insource and Managed Service Provider (MSP) solution Background SEIC is developing the Piltun-Astokhskoye oil field and the Lunskoye gas field off the north-eastern coast of Sakhalin Island, Russia. Its activities include production, transportation, processing, and marketing of oil and natural gas. SEIC needed to increase their workforce rapidly to ensure they delivered their projects on time and within budget. They also needed to bolster their project teams with both international and local talent. Challenge SEIC required high volumes of highly specialised and experienced candidates to fulfill roles across multiple disciplines within their corporate functions and projects. This posed a particular challenge as there is a limited talent pool for these candidates and Sakhalin Island is a challenging location to attract both local and international talent due to its climate and remote location. Air Energi Solution Air Energi consulted with SEIC to provide a tailored insource and Managed Service Provider (MSP) solution, which included the following: On-site insource consultant - Air Energi provided an insourced dedicated recruitment consultant, with specific upstream oil and gas recruitment expertise, to work in and alongside SEIC’s existing team of HR recruiters and line managers. Our insourced consultant was able to support in the development of their recruitment strategies and consult in pre and post workforce planning for projects to ensure effective delivery. Process Driven Approach – Air Energi worked with the senior HR management team to establish an efficient and robust recruitment process, capable of handling large volumes of candidates and job requirements from a standing start. The recruitment process included candidate screening, interview management, candidate feedback as well as making offers, on-boarding candidates and mobilisation. Vendor Management –Air Energi engaged with the existing SEIC supply chain for tier I and II suppliers and established a supplier skills matrix against SEIC’s job requirements to ensure they provided suitable candidates with upstream/ offshore/LNG experience. As part of our on-going vendor management we also developed a process to measure suppliers performance to make certain they delivered the best candidates to SEIC. Client Management – Developing a close relationship with the discipline hiring managers was essential to ensuring successful project delivery. Air Energi’s approach dramatically increased the number of new hires for the project and decreased the time to hire by 80% in certain areas of the business. Result Air Energi continues to provide a successful insource and MSP solution to SEIC to deliver large volumes of high quality, talented candidates for their major projects.
