2. What is Obesity? Obesity is an excess accumulation of body fat at least 20% over average weight for age, sex, and height. According to World Health Organization Obesity is defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that presents a risk to health. WHO break down obesity into following categories: Any BMI ≥ 35 or 40 is severe obesity A BMI of ≥ 35 or 40–44.9 or 49.9 is morbid obesity A BMI of ≥ 45 or 50 is super obese.
