UWS/SAC not only merged their catalogues, but they also share the physical space and collections at the Ayr campus.
UWS and SAC are now joining the existing Millennium system hosted by UHI.
UHI’s current system deploys the full suite of Millennium modulesincluding Acquisitions, Cataloguing, Circulation, ERM, ILL, and Serials.
The system is on 2009B 1.4It also includes Research Pro and Webpac Pro, and has both a live and development server.
UWS and SAC have existing hardware and software that will need to be integrated into the merged system. They include D-Tech self-check kiosks, SFX link resolver, two student information systems, both Banner and Unit-Etheir own e-resource licensing and multiple campuses and locations.
UHI does not currently use self-check devices, SFX, or Banner or Unit-ESo adding these components to the existing system presents challenges. We will need to incorporate three student information systems, Query multiple LDAP servers, and Manage various e-resource licensing/platforms
With several key Millennium features, we can allow both sharing and separation within the system:Separate Accounting and Serials units to control access to finances and subscriptionsSeparate ERM contexts to control coverage and licensing
