  3. 3. Cour se Expect at ions  Students will arrive to class on time and prepared – binder/textbook/assignment in hand  All assignments and homework will be completed on time and handed in at the beginning of the class in which it is due
  4. 4.  Assignments not handed in on time will receive less than full marks – 10% taken off each day late; assignments handed in after one week will receive no more than 50%  Students with extenuating circumstances must talk with the teacher in advance to have an assignment deadline extended

  • Introduce students to the big ideas for the unit; refer to textbook page 2
  • Intro to the Big Ideas Activity 1 ; give students 15 minutes to brainstorm and then discuss as a class; record ideas on the board for everyone to see

  • Read/refer to pages 2-3 of text; mention unit 9.2 and EQ’s from pages 5-7
  • Divide class into 6 groups for this activity; use chart paper for groups to record their ideas; teacher facilitates the discussion
