Food Allergy Basics (STATISTICS):
Approximately 11 million Americans suffer from
food allergies with 30,000 emergency room visits
due to food allergies. Millions are affected by
allergies to insect stings, latex, exercise,
medications, and idiopathic reactions (no cause
identified). All of these individuals are at risk for
anaphylaxis, a potentially life-threatening allergic
reaction.
