active around societal questions because
these actions will define their brand.
Google, Facebook and Twitter have committed to addressing advertising fraud
and brand safety, along with 20 other Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) UK
board members. The ‘Gold Standard’ programme, which the IAB launched on
18 October 2017, aims to improve digital advertising.

Deutsche Telecom’s latest corporate responsibility
report emphasizes the company’s commitment to
sustainable activity along the entire value chain
and highlights the potential its products and
services hold for addressing environmental,
economic and social challenges.

Instant Schools For Africa is a charitable
initiative across sub-Saharan Africa. Thanks to
zero mobile data charges it aims too provide
free access to quality online educational
materials. Children, young people and
educators benefit from free and unlimited
access to the Instant Schools for Africa online
learning materials in order to encourage
widespread access to, and use of, the
curricula on offer. A similar Vodafone
Foundation initiative in South Africa -
Vodacom e-School - is already benefiting
215,000 children.
Disaster Response is a GSMA (Groupe
Spéciale Mobile Association) programme
leading the mobile industry in improving
network preparedness and restoration, and
providing more effective, coordinated
support to humanitarian responders and
coordinators in disaster affected populations.
Mobile’s role in disaster response has
continued to grow, and as the ecosystem
becomes more complex, the GSMA community
is committed to understanding the full
potential of mobile networks in these
situations
Vodafone GSMA

The largest wireless carriers in the US waived data, talk and SMS
overages during recent hurricane disasters in Texas and Louisiana
to bolster the Mobile Wireless Resilience Order signed voluntarily
by carriers in December 2016 – this order set a protocol for
carriers to broaden roaming during disasters and foster mutual aid
between them during emergencies.
The carriers are also active in CTIA public safety initiatives such
as: Wireless Emergency Alerts, around major weather, child
abductions and other significant life-threatening events, Location
Accuracy via wireless technology advances and Next Generation
9-1-1 to drive the adoption of technology that will bring voice,
text, video to local Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) across
the country.

their AIs to act as responsible, productive members of
