 2004: Al Qaeda begins operations in Iraq led by Abu Musab

 2006: Al Qaeda in Iraq is disowned by Al Qaeda due to their
attacks of fellow Muslims.
 AQI Rebrands themselves as ISIS.

 March 2011: Pro-Democracy protests erupt around the
middle east.
 Syrian President Assad uses violence to quiet protests.
 Protests increase & develop into a civil war.
 2011-Today: Civil War

and cities.
