2. Es una construcción verbal por la cual se
presenta al sujeto como pasivo , mientras que
la acción ejecutada por el verbo es desempeñada
por un complemento y no por el sujeto presente
del verbo en voz activa.
La voz pasiva transforma un
verbo de transitivo a intransitivo con un sólo
argumento principal posible (el agente cuando se
expresa se expresa mediante un adjunto marcado
con caso oblicuo o preposicional).
Example "The new mechanic repairs the
gearbox"; It transforms into passive
voice like "The gearbox repaired by the
new mechanic".
3. La voz pasiva se utiliza para mostrar
interés por la persona o cosa que es objeto
de una acción, en lugar de la persona o
cosa que realiza dicha acción. Dicho de
otro modo, la persona o cosa más
importante pasa a ser el sujeto de la
oración.
The passive voice is used to show interest
in the person or thing that is the object of
an action, rather than the person or thing
that performs that action. In other words,
the most important person or thing
becomes the subject of prayer.
EJEMPLOS
The passive voice is
used frequently.
( nos interesa la voz pasiva, no
quién la usa.)
The house was built in 1654.
( nos interesa la casa, no quién la
construyó.)
The road is being repaired.
(nos interesa la carretera, no quién
la está arreglando.)
4. LA Passive voice is formed using the verb to be the main verb in participle (past
participle)
To transform an active sentence to passive we consider the following points:
The object of active prayer passes a being the subject of the passive.
The main verb is replaced by the auxiliary "to be", in its same time, next to the main
verb in participle.
The subject of the main sentence becomes the complement agent of the passive
If we mention in the sentence the subject who performs the action.
5. Subject + "to be"
(conjugate)
+ "past
participle"
+ Rest of the sentence
La voz pasiva se forma con el verbo 'to be' (ser) y el participio pasado.
They made this car in 1963. (active) This car was made in 1963. (passive)
El sujeto de un verbo en pasiva corresponde al objeto de un verbo en activa.
Estudia la siguiente lista de las formas del verbo en pasiva.
(pp = participio pasado)
Spanish is spoken inArgentina PASIVA
(sujeto)
Argentinians speak Spanish ACTIVA
(objeto)
6. Use of Passive
Passive voice is used when the focus is on the action. It is not important or not
known, however, who or what is performing the action.
Passive Sentences with Two Objects
Rewriting an active sentence with two objects in passive voice means that one of the
two objects becomes the subject, the other one remains an object. Which object to
transform into a subject depends on what you want to put the focus on.
Personal and Impersonal Passive
Personal Passive simply means that the object of the active sentence becomes the
subject of the passive sentence. So every verb that needs an object (transitive verb)
can form a personal passive.
7. • Carl: What’s the name of the song you’re listening to?
Ximena: It’s called The End
• Carl: By any chance, do you know who composed it?
Ximena: Well, it was composed by my uncle
• Carl: Really? I didn’t know that. He is very talented.
Ximena: Actually, my family is quite talented.
•
Carl: Yeah? Why do you say that?
Ximena: Well, the famous recipe Muffin Paella was invented by my grandfather.
•
Carl: I love Muffin Paella.
Ximena: All of her saga books called Realistic Miracles were written by my father
•
Carl: I thought the saga had been written by Charles Dickens.
Ximena: No, it wasn’t.
•
Carl: What about you Ximena? Have you created or written something?
Ximena: No, I’d like to direct a movie but I don’t think I am as talented as the rest of my family.
•
Carl: I am sure you’ll become a reputed movie director and several movies we are led by you.
8. Verbos: voz activa y voz pasiva.
agente.
Voz Activa es cuando una
persona realiza la acción en
forma directa o también sobre
la misma persona.
