A presentation related to infrastructure projects business in Malaysia which discusses about the challenges, background and other matters regarding the industry and its impact towards Malaysian economy and others too.
• Due to the country's rising productivity, Malaysia's construction business is
expanding quickly and becoming more difficult. As part of Malaysia’s aim
to become a developed country by 2050, a wide range of mega
infrastructures and development plans have been put forward by the
government. Complex projects are at a higher risk of delays and cost
overruns (Waldron, 2006).
• Malaysia's government has been successful in fulfilling rising infrastructure
needs. The government has also made significant headway in providing
infrastructure in the country's less developed areas. Infrastructure
development requires a large expenses. In every Malaysia Plan, the
infrastructure sector has gotten the greatest proportion of public sector
• Inspite of the achievements obtained in the construction of infrastructure,
there are numerous areas where policy design and execution may be
improved. One area where the government must intervene is in the
preparation of medium-term plans for all areas of the infrastructure
industry. Such planning will help in the avoidance of unplanned project
selection (Naidu, 2008).
The first issue is the issue related to a lack of resources or
inadequacy in industrial infrastructure (especially supply sources).
The second issue is issues related to customers and consultants, and

less the challenge for the government to improve the public infrastructure
of our country.
• The more observations and studies we do on how poorly public
infrastructure is managed, the more likely it is that we will figure out why
