Creating a Positive Learning Environment Essay
Research shows that the learning environment encompasses more than just the classroom that learning and teaching takes place. Many factors
contribute to a learning environment, including the students, teachers, parents, school staff, policy makers, specialists, support staff, community
members and the different learning spaces and resources available. This reflective journal will discuss some ways that teachers can set up the learning
environment to maximise teaching and learning and some potential advantages and difficulties for me as a new teacher.
Education systems and services are integral to setting up a learning environment that maximises teaching and learning. I agree with Munro (2009) that

By creating collaborative relationships we can gain a greater depth of knowledge regarding student's needs and abilities and implement new teaching
practices to maximise teaching and learning. When relationships are built on trust, students and parents can play an active role within the learning
environment and teachers and staff can work together to develop a learning environment that caters for and celebrates diversity. Consequently
everyone feels a sense of belonging and empowerment because with relationships comes an understanding of the others needs, interests and
concerns. Cramer and Stivers (2007, p. 63), argue that "collaboration is no longer an ingredient in school life but an essential feature", however,
not everyone may see it like that. Some staff and parents may not see the value in collaboration, there may not be an inclusive school culture and
inclusive policy and practice may not be in place. However, I do believe aspects of these barriers can be overcome by sticking to my core values and
beliefs and by becoming an advocate for the inclusive practices I believe in.
This week's material on the principles of Universal Design forced me to rethink the way curriculum and practices are undertaken and forced me to see
teaching and learning in a new light. Pisha and Coyne (2001) discussed how in the past (and still today) the curriculum "locked out" many students
with a variety of learning needs. Using principles of Universal Design for Learning teachers can

One of the most important elements of teaching is having a large assortment of different instructional strategies, and choosing which ones to use based
on your student population. Properly using instructional strategies is a valuable aspect to teaching because it keeps students engaged and active.
Instructional strategies are not necessarily important than content in a classroom, but they will tremendously enhance the way students learn that
material. Throughout this expectation, I will show not only my love for instructional strategies, but also how I can use them in a classroom to enhance
my students learning environment.
The first piece of evidence I would like to present is an article I read on the significance of instructional strategies in a classroom. The article, titled
Instructional Strategies: How Teachers Teach Matters, is such a great read because it not only states the importance of using instructional strategies, but
also states how to plan, teach, and reflect upon these strategies. The article also goes in depth on what a good instructional strategy will produce within a
student's work. It later states that the students will become more engages, more emotionally attached to their work, and school will suddenly become
more fun to them. I have personally seen this throughout my use of instructional strategies in the classroom as well. When using engaging instructional
strategies, my students suddenly are more active in the lesson and tend to be enjoying class.

Preparing High School Students For College Essay
Preparing high school students for college is every parent and teachers goal but sometimes that goal is hard to achieve. Students are not getting a
proper education now–a–days and they do not realize that it is going to hurt them after they graduate. A study says, "That composite score dropped to
20.9 among high school students in 2013, the lowest in eight years" (Adams, 2013). That is a very low average and it is because what students are
learning in high school just isn't sticking with them through college. After students graduate they start taking harder classes, some have to start
paying their own bills, and so many other changes they are not ready for. It is a big jump to go from high school to college and I think schools can
do a better job of preparing students. It is their experience and education in high school that is going to help them in college. If they are not ready
they are going to struggle which will result in some not so good outcomes such as having low grades or even worse dropping out. I do not believe
that high school education has prepared students for college because there are many useless classes, it is more about memorizing than learning, and
students drop out in a year or less because of the workload. Many high schools have requirements for students about what classes they need to take in
order to graduate. Some students have a little bit of say in what they get to take but there are a lot that do not. Classes are not picked based off of

Teaching Assistantship Application
I am writing this letter to apply for the teaching assistantship at Eastern Washington University. During my time in the Army I discovered a love for
teaching and am currently continuing that passion through substitute teaching at the high school level. The assistantship position would allow me to
build on my four years of teaching experience, learn new teaching methodologies, and prepare me to teach at the college level upon my completion of
my M.F.A.
I have a variety of formal teaching experience outside the writing field. In the Army I prepared and instructed professional development courses in
small group settings, one–on–one environments, and for company level events. I graduated on the Commandant's List at the Warrior Leadership
Academy (a month long school on teaching and leadership methods). In preparation for a change in leadership I developed a...show more content...

weakness one is able to adjust the lessons to improve the weak areas and praise the strengths. For example some writers are technically sound, but fail
at conveying meaningfully information; other students may have grammatical issues, transitional problems, structural failures, etc.; and some students
use cliches, rely on the passive voice, or just write the same way they speak. Identifying common issues among a class allows you tailor lessons to
focus on weakness amongst the group. On an individual level, highlighting strengths and picking a few areas of improvement on each assignment allow
the student to focus on different challenges throughout the course without overwhelming them with

My Motivation For Teaching A Student Essay
My motivation for teaching is to make a difference in a students life. The feeling of teaching a child a lesson, and them understanding it, is a
rewarding experience for a teacher. I have babysat for about 6 years, and being around children makes me happy and I love the relationships that I
have built with all the kids I have cared for in the past. What really motivated me to go back to school for teaching, was this past summer after
having the opportunity to be a camp counselor. Working at the day camp, I formed relationships and bonds throughout the summer, that I am never
going to forget about. The feeling of a child trusting and loving you, is unlike any other. When I thought about how much I loved being around
children, I figured that becoming a teacher would be the perfect thing for me. It took me a few years to figure it out, but I now know that this is
what I am passionate about and I want this to be my career. The relationships a child builds with a teacher never gets forgotten, I know this from
experience. I do not remember all of my teachers that I have had in my lifetime, but I do remember the ones who I felt safe and connected with, and I
felt had an impact on my education. I believe that every student who will enter my classroom can succeed. Teaching should be student– centered and
students should be accountable for their learning and behavior. In addition, students should take responsibility for their decisions and actions. As a
teacher, I will help to

Technology in Teaching and Learning Essay
Educational technologies are being utilized in every way shape and form, from inline gaming to numeracy, literacy and painting by numbers. From
learning to leisure we have embraced the internet, in online chat rooms we communicate, interact and move into future learning through educational
programmes and technology that lets us learn virtually. Instruction and directions are sent across cyberspace which change perceptions and give us an
insight into different cultures far away across the other side of the world .The enigma that is cyberspace has the capacity to change our way of
thinking, learning and teaching, and it is this teaching aspect that most interests me. As classroom based beings, teachers and the technological

This technology helps students to demonstrate their potential and develop social constructs that aid in collaborative learning and in turn teaching. It is
access to interactive technology, the internet, whiteboard or Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) that has given me an entertaining platform on which
to engage learners. Most of this generation of teens have the advantage of being digitally aware, with on–line gaming, Face book and Twitter part of
everyday conversations. For these learners keyboard skills are almost inherent, yet for some it has generated a further problem. It is the letters on the
keyboard itself that creates a barrier to interactive action learning, this is the case for some of my students and indeed for myself as a facilitator of
learning for non readers.
Dearing, (1997 p.20) mentions.
"New technology is changing the way information is stored and transmitted. This has implications for both the skills which higher education needs to
develop and the way in which it is delivered. Universities may invest millions of pounds in the provision of computer hardware without ever seriously
considering the educational results such investment may deliver.
This is true of Entry level learning also. Mumford, (1995 pp.55–57) "However, the student must be exposed to the technology in a

Becoming a teacher can be an exciting and challenging experience for anyone. It can be quite difficult to put four years of knowledge into their
teaching and into a classroom environment. And while it may seem challenging at first it does become easier over time.
A teacher is not only someone who teaches, but they are a symbol of learning.
A teacher is a person who plays the most important role in the development of any student. The future of those students depends on the qualities and the
dedication of that teacher. It is the teacher who creates an interest in students to develop and to progress. It is the teacher who helps the students
achieve whatever aims they set for themselves.

The curriculum then becomes more relevant, therefore the motivation for the students to accomplish the tasks increases.
The subject matter not only has to be relevant but it also has to be stimulating to the students' curiosity. If a student is bored with the content, they are
not going to want to learn it.
The classroom also has to be seen as a caring and supportive place with a sense of belonging. Every student must feel respected, valued and heard.
Giving children the support for learning by welcoming their questions and encouraging exploration is very important for teachers to do.
Extrinsic motivators are sometimes used when teachers have a student or class who feels like they have earn't something for their hard work. This
could be things such as stickers or stamps on their homework and tests. Or it could be receiving verbal or written praise. It could be just the thing that
motivates certain students. But not all students need to be extrinsically motivated. Teachers need to find out which type of motivation works best for
which student to help them succeed.
Classroom teaching is more likely to be effective when it is informed by an understanding of how students learn. Constructivism is the current approach
to learning in Australian schools today. Constructivism is how each student goes about constructing his or her own knowledge. This type of

My Teaching Philosophy Essay
My Teaching Philosophy I believe that education extends far beyond the classroom walls, and involves many more people than students and
teachers. People should be learning wherever they go, and should continue learning long after they've graduated from high school or college.
Education isn't something that can be quantified with tests or report cards, but is instead something that people carry with them. It's a survival pack
for life, and some people are better equipped in certain areas than in others. People with a solid education are prepared for nearly anything, as they
will be able to provide for their own physical, emotional, and aesthetic needs. That being said, I also believe that a crucial part of education does...show

The roles of a teacher are so many and so varied that it is impossible to list them all, but one of the most important is preparing students to learn, not
only in the classroom, but everywhere, and for the rest of their lives. Learning is not a skill that is necessarily instinctual or easy, and therefore
different approaches must be used to make learning easier and more fun for students. Teaching is not a skill that can be memorized or made
repetitive, and so teachers must continue to challenge not only their students, but also themselves. Teachers that become complacent in their jobs are
not good teachers. Those who can find a way to make an old lesson new and exciting will have an energized classroom, and will be reenergized
themselves. Every child is different. That sounds like an obvious statement, but so many ineffective teachers seem to forget this. Each student has his
or her own varying abilities, talents, and levels of competence, and it is the job of a teacher not only to recognize this, but to help each student
recognize this as well. If a child isn't doing well in a particular subject, both the teacher and the student should work towards figuring out why, and the
teacher should accept the challenge of finding a way to make a particular subject more

With so many of life many failure attempts to succeed in life, we see those individuals that have dropped out of school and feel that their life now
seems meaningless. Their determination or will power wasn't strong, and they had no one to push them forward to want to be a better person or

Now how can you learn if you're not interested? This is when the teacher should consider providing fun and games, praise, and love within the
classrooms, making the classroom exciting and more interesting.
Before entering the classrooms, teachers should sit and study each individual student and learn their likes and dislikes. They should know what
particular student need help in what particular subject. Some students need more help in other subjects than other students. This is when teachers
should consider making their lesson plans focusing on subject matters that are current and relevant to high school students, implementing cooperative
learning strategies with their lesson plans while students show off their talents. If students are demonstrating what they have learned in a skit, they
tend to learn more positively. When providing fun and game within the classrooms, the students are excited about attending class because they
already know something very eventful is going to take place in that particular class. Not only are they learning they are having fun while doing so.
They are able to act out some of their personal talents, giving others a sense of who they really are, and what some of their greater skills may be. As

that appeals to their strengths, you're giving them a chance

Essay about Teachers and Students
Teachers and Students
The education habits of students are rooted in them from the earliest days of their educational careers. The different influences on students, whether it
be inside educational institutions, or outside is huge. The teacher of a classroom is the first and most pertinent influence in a student's educational career.
Teachers provide students with the basic skills they would need to survive not only in the academic world, but also the world beyond. The relationship
between teachers and their students is the key element in creating an educational atmosphere that is both pleasant and effective.

Unconsciously or not, they consistently reinforce and reward more 'feminine' behavior. Although it may be true that boys are more active than girls,
but to say that they are treated differently is to be overly generalizing the situation. A teacher is supposed to be able to handle different types of
children in the classroom, and cater to their activeness or passiveness in a class. For example, a teacher would try to involve a quiet and shy student
as often as possible. The same goes for an active child; the teacher should be able to find activities for that child which would not only educate them,
but also keep them busy.
Thomas provides various arguments as to how boys and girls are different; therefore they are treated differently in a classroom. It cannot be argued
that boys and girls are different, especially at such a young age, but to say that teachers specifically do treat boys in a rougher manner would be going
too far. Thomas introduces the idea that society instills ideas of prejudice towards women in young boys, so that when they do go into a classroom
governed by a female teacher, they are predisposed to be defiant and unruly. In my opinion, it is unfair to judge teachers based on the performance of
their students on various tests. Thomas's article introduces the idea that as the number of female teachers is increasing, the performance of boys in
school is declining. One much question whether it is in fact the teachers who cause this

How To Write An Essay About Going To Highschool
In the year of 2017, I see myself graduating middle school and going into highschool. I will be going to highschool in an excellent school and
taking classes in a great program with some of my friends. The school will be much bigger and there will be way more students attending. There
will be much more competition throughout the school. Clearly, everyone in 8th grade had always been waiting for the nerve racking day they get to
graduate. I have been waiting for the day I get to join a new school, with new students and new teachers, walking into new halls and new classrooms.
There is more papers you have to write and you have to work even harder to succeed. But before my new life and education starts in high school, I
would like to keep something in middle school. A legacy is how people will remember you. After all my hardwork and dedication, I want to leave a
remarkable legacy in Eisenhower Middle school.
If I were to leave an admirable legacy, people will definitely have to remember me. My family would be thrilled and satisfied with my hard work at
school and home. My teachers would think of me as strong and someone who never gives up. I want my friends to believe that...show more content...

My Teaching Methodology
As a professional teacher I am caring, passionate, enthusiastic and excited about providing engaging and challenging learning experiences. My aim is to
assist, encourage and support students to achieve their learning goals. In my classroom I believe that all students have the fundamental right to have
access to a successful and fulfilling education in order to be productive and valuable members of society. I take on a holistic, flexible and
differentiated pedagogical approach to teaching, to allow for inclusivity within my classroom domains. I strongly believe that there is no one size fits
all approach to pedagogy and learning. Therefore, I constantly need to know my students backgrounds, ethnicity, cultures, religions and capabilities to
provide quality and engaging learning experiences to engage and challenge all students.
When teaching my students I plan and implement a variety of teaching pedagogies to emphasis engaged learning, communication, literacy, numeracy,
collaboration and problem solving through a range of technologies. Alongside this I constantly seek opportunities to make learning connected and
incorporate cross–curriculum priorities which include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, Asia and Australia's engagement with
Asia and Sustainability. By providing multiple ways that students can learn with ICT and real life contexts lays the foundational tools that students will
need to think creatively, logically and meta cognitively

My Growth Is A High School Student
My Growth Essay Being a high school student in the tenth grade things a bit hectic all the tests and book reports I have to do I always get caught up
in my school work. Since my school life consists of nothing but essays, keynotes, benchmarks and free response questions. Never anything less than
teachers pressing on about double spaces, sentence patterns and "Where to put the semi–colon." I have never really noticed that they fail to teach or
lecture me about unique writing skills until I got into this class. "Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle." That
quote was from Napoleon Hill and it means more than enough to me because I thrive everyday to succeed in life and over the years and through
this class I've learned, Growth and success are the key things. I have learned that if you put effort into all you do that you'll be surprised with what
the outcome may be. That you can start now because you're never too old or too young to learn how to succeed and have a successful life. When I
first started ACA 115 I didn't know what to expect, I was honestly really scared I was going to fail. I wasn't prepared for it because I signed up for it
my Freshman year and I had forgot about it. Now that I've settled in and put in some effort I found that it was really easy, All I had to do was just talk
about different learning styles and studying methods that work for me. This class taught me how to not forget about my budget and how to spend not

Essay on Attending High School
High School
Do you remember your high school days? High school
for me has proved to be a learning experience and also a
challenge. There are many lessons that can be learned.
You can learn more about yourself, who your friends are,
what kind of help is offered to you, and what your
strengths and your weaknesses are. Attending
High School helped build my confidence because my
classmates were supportive, my teachers taught me how to
study for tests, and the math tutors helped me overcome
my fear of math.
My classmates were supportive in many ways. I used
to attend study groups for the subjects that I was

Most students would wait until the last
minute to study and try to cram all the information on a
test in one night. But my teachers stressed that studying
a little bit at a time would be the best way to go about
learning the material. Another way they tried to provoke
studying would be by telling us to study in a group.
This method worked, but the method that I found that
helped me the most was by using flash cards. It was a
good way of studying especially for a test that had lots
of definitions on it. But I found it much easier to look at
a single piece of information instead of a whole page of
notes at one time. Overall, teachers do not just teach you
the facts from the books. They can help you sharpen your
study skills by showing you new ways of learning.
Lastly, the tutors at the school helped me to overcome my
biggest fear and that was math. They helped me realize
that if you take math one step at a time, it will be a
lot easier than trying to learn it all at once. The
tutors also made it easier for me by teaching me to
relate math to something I enjoy. A simple example would be
if you were having problems with percents. And they would
tell you to relate it to something like when you go shopping
and clothes have a certain discount. It carries the same
principle. And this method can help you overcome a fear

My Teaching Experience Essay
When I first come to Saint Cloud High School, I was uncertain of how I would fit into the world of education as a teacher, in fact, this was my
first teaching practice. After completing a few observations, I changed my view and recognized my teaching abilities. I was able to learn many
different things that will be helpful to me when I become a certified teacher someday. Although I could face many possible challenges in the
classroom, I have many of the strengths it takes to be a good teacher. There were many times during this field training that gave me a broad idea of
how the ordinary life of a teacher would go. Similarly, I got a profound sense of how the classroom environment is for most instructors. In general, I
believe this was a pleasant experience for me, and I learned a lot in such a brief period.
The educational unit I executed has an element of my instruction beliefs that students should connect and relate theme content to real life situations
inside and outside the teaching space. Therefore, during my teaching experience, I feel compromise and responsible for meeting my students' needs and
that is why I included many visuals aids and plenty of flexible activities. Hence, this unit involved a mixture of student and teacher–centered strategies
such as direct instruction, drill and practice of the unit vocabulary, lectures, dialogues, question and answer sessions, discussions with exchanges of
opinions and perspectives, discovery learning events and presentations

My Passion is to Teach Essay
My Passion is to Teach
Every child thinks about what to do when they grow up, and every child changes their mind about a hundred times. I admit that I changed my mind
frequently until I started high school. I wanted to be everything from a princess to a firefighter, but in high school I decided that one day I would be a
teacher. I wanted to be a teacher because I think that our nation is lacking in teachers that want to teach. We have anabundance of teachers that teach

I truly believe that education is the key to success. Success comes in different stages. Before a child can be successful outside of school they must fist
be successful in school. Children need to learn to have confidence in their abilities and their work. They also need to learn to have confidence in
themselves. They need to understand that they are special, ante that they are wonderful for just being themselves. As a teacher, I hope to influence
children not only in their core curriculum but also in their ability to solve problems. In my classroom, I don't necessarily want the students to memorize
facts, bi I want them to learn and retain the information on how to find the answers. They need to know the type of information they can go to the
dictionary for help, encyclopedias, thesaurus, and the Internet.
My classroom will be very hands on. Children learn things better when they experience them first hand. They learn how volcanoes erupt the same way
they learn that the stove is hot. That said, not everything can be taught in this manner. Many things in my classroom will be taught through the
exploration of books. Children need to be taught that learning is fun or they won't want to learn. We all know that if someone doesn't want to do
something they won't do it. I hope to be able to deal with all discipline problems by myself using the office as a last resort. I don't want my students to
fear me, but I want them to

Comparison Essay: College Writing Vs. High School
After reading those two articles, I think college writing is totally different from high school writing; we need to put much more effort on developing
our research, thinking and writing skills. In college writing, we will use tools like academic writing situation to help us in creating papers. And we
must be responsible for all assignments and works in order to be successful. It is not difficult to write, but writing with professional vocabulary and
correct format with our own fresh thoughts is challenging. As Strong said, "Writing is thinking.", there is no perfect first draft, as long as we rewrite
with consistent thinking, we will be a qualified college writer.

Creating A Positive Learning Environment Essay

  • 1. Creating a Positive Learning Environment Essay Research shows that the learning environment encompasses more than just the classroom that learning and teaching takes place. Many factors contribute to a learning environment, including the students, teachers, parents, school staff, policy makers, specialists, support staff, community members and the different learning spaces and resources available. This reflective journal will discuss some ways that teachers can set up the learning environment to maximise teaching and learning and some potential advantages and difficulties for me as a new teacher. Education systems and services are integral to setting up a learning environment that maximises teaching and learning. I agree with Munro (2009) that being aware of what services,...show more content... By creating collaborative relationships we can gain a greater depth of knowledge regarding student's needs and abilities and implement new teaching practices to maximise teaching and learning. When relationships are built on trust, students and parents can play an active role within the learning environment and teachers and staff can work together to develop a learning environment that caters for and celebrates diversity. Consequently everyone feels a sense of belonging and empowerment because with relationships comes an understanding of the others needs, interests and concerns. Cramer and Stivers (2007, p. 63), argue that "collaboration is no longer an ingredient in school life but an essential feature", however, not everyone may see it like that. Some staff and parents may not see the value in collaboration, there may not be an inclusive school culture and inclusive policy and practice may not be in place. However, I do believe aspects of these barriers can be overcome by sticking to my core values and beliefs and by becoming an advocate for the inclusive practices I believe in. This week's material on the principles of Universal Design forced me to rethink the way curriculum and practices are undertaken and forced me to see teaching and learning in a new light. Pisha and Coyne (2001) discussed how in the past (and still today) the curriculum "locked out" many students with a variety of learning needs. Using principles of Universal Design for Learning teachers can Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. One of the most important elements of teaching is having a large assortment of different instructional strategies, and choosing which ones to use based on your student population. Properly using instructional strategies is a valuable aspect to teaching because it keeps students engaged and active. Instructional strategies are not necessarily important than content in a classroom, but they will tremendously enhance the way students learn that material. Throughout this expectation, I will show not only my love for instructional strategies, but also how I can use them in a classroom to enhance my students learning environment. The first piece of evidence I would like to present is an article I read on the significance of instructional strategies in a classroom. The article, titled Instructional Strategies: How Teachers Teach Matters, is such a great read because it not only states the importance of using instructional strategies, but also states how to plan, teach, and reflect upon these strategies. The article also goes in depth on what a good instructional strategy will produce within a student's work. It later states that the students will become more engages, more emotionally attached to their work, and school will suddenly become more fun to them. I have personally seen this throughout my use of instructional strategies in the classroom as well. When using engaging instructional strategies, my students suddenly are more active in the lesson and tend to be enjoying class. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Preparing High School Students For College Essay Preparing high school students for college is every parent and teachers goal but sometimes that goal is hard to achieve. Students are not getting a proper education now–a–days and they do not realize that it is going to hurt them after they graduate. A study says, "That composite score dropped to 20.9 among high school students in 2013, the lowest in eight years" (Adams, 2013). That is a very low average and it is because what students are learning in high school just isn't sticking with them through college. After students graduate they start taking harder classes, some have to start paying their own bills, and so many other changes they are not ready for. It is a big jump to go from high school to college and I think schools can do a better job of preparing students. It is their experience and education in high school that is going to help them in college. If they are not ready they are going to struggle which will result in some not so good outcomes such as having low grades or even worse dropping out. I do not believe that high school education has prepared students for college because there are many useless classes, it is more about memorizing than learning, and students drop out in a year or less because of the workload. Many high schools have requirements for students about what classes they need to take in order to graduate. Some students have a little bit of say in what they get to take but there are a lot that do not. Classes are not picked based off of interest, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Teaching Assistantship Application I am writing this letter to apply for the teaching assistantship at Eastern Washington University. During my time in the Army I discovered a love for teaching and am currently continuing that passion through substitute teaching at the high school level. The assistantship position would allow me to build on my four years of teaching experience, learn new teaching methodologies, and prepare me to teach at the college level upon my completion of my M.F.A. I have a variety of formal teaching experience outside the writing field. In the Army I prepared and instructed professional development courses in small group settings, one–on–one environments, and for company level events. I graduated on the Commandant's List at the Warrior Leadership Academy (a month long school on teaching and leadership methods). In preparation for a change in leadership I developed a...show more content... Once the students understand why the class is important I transition to individualized and fluid teaching style. By identifying strengths and weakness one is able to adjust the lessons to improve the weak areas and praise the strengths. For example some writers are technically sound, but fail at conveying meaningfully information; other students may have grammatical issues, transitional problems, structural failures, etc.; and some students use cliches, rely on the passive voice, or just write the same way they speak. Identifying common issues among a class allows you tailor lessons to focus on weakness amongst the group. On an individual level, highlighting strengths and picking a few areas of improvement on each assignment allow the student to focus on different challenges throughout the course without overwhelming them with Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. My Motivation For Teaching A Student Essay My motivation for teaching is to make a difference in a students life. The feeling of teaching a child a lesson, and them understanding it, is a rewarding experience for a teacher. I have babysat for about 6 years, and being around children makes me happy and I love the relationships that I have built with all the kids I have cared for in the past. What really motivated me to go back to school for teaching, was this past summer after having the opportunity to be a camp counselor. Working at the day camp, I formed relationships and bonds throughout the summer, that I am never going to forget about. The feeling of a child trusting and loving you, is unlike any other. When I thought about how much I loved being around children, I figured that becoming a teacher would be the perfect thing for me. It took me a few years to figure it out, but I now know that this is what I am passionate about and I want this to be my career. The relationships a child builds with a teacher never gets forgotten, I know this from experience. I do not remember all of my teachers that I have had in my lifetime, but I do remember the ones who I felt safe and connected with, and I felt had an impact on my education. I believe that every student who will enter my classroom can succeed. Teaching should be student– centered and students should be accountable for their learning and behavior. In addition, students should take responsibility for their decisions and actions. As a teacher, I will help to Get more content on HelpWriting.net

From learning to leisure we have embraced the internet, in online chat rooms we communicate, interact and move into future learning through educational programmes and technology that lets us learn virtually. Instruction and directions are sent across cyberspace which change perceptions and give us an insight into different cultures far away across the other side of the world .The enigma that is cyberspace has the capacity to change our way of thinking, learning and teaching, and it is this teaching aspect that most interests me. This technology helps students to demonstrate their potential and develop social constructs that aid in collaborative learning and in turn teaching. It is access to interactive technology, the internet, whiteboard or Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) that has given me an entertaining platform on which to engage learners. Most of this generation of teens have the advantage of being digitally aware, with on–line gaming, Face book and Twitter part of everyday conversations. For these learners keyboard skills are almost inherent, yet for some it has generated a further problem. It is the letters on the keyboard itself that creates a barrier to interactive action learning, this is the case for some of my students and indeed for myself as a facilitator of learning for non readers. Dearing, (1997 p.20) mentions. "New technology is changing the way information is stored and transmitted. This has implications for both the skills which higher education needs to develop and the way in which it is delivered. Universities may invest millions of pounds in the provision of computer hardware without ever seriously considering the educational results such investment may deliver. This is true of Entry level learning also. Mumford, (1995 pp.55–57) "However, the student must be exposed to the technology in a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Becoming a teacher can be an exciting and challenging experience for anyone. It can be quite difficult to put four years of knowledge into their teaching and into a classroom environment. And while it may seem challenging at first it does become easier over time. A teacher is not only someone who teaches, but they are a symbol of learning. A teacher is a person who plays the most important role in the development of any student. The future of those students depends on the qualities and the dedication of that teacher. It is the teacher who creates an interest in students to develop and to progress. It is the teacher who helps the students achieve whatever aims they set for themselves. Teachers have a lot to do with motivating...show more content... The curriculum then becomes more relevant, therefore the motivation for the students to accomplish the tasks increases. The subject matter not only has to be relevant but it also has to be stimulating to the students' curiosity. If a student is bored with the content, they are not going to want to learn it. This could be things such as stickers or stamps on their homework and tests. Or it could be receiving verbal or written praise. It could be just the thing that motivates certain students. But not all students need to be extrinsically motivated. Teachers need to find out which type of motivation works best for which student to help them succeed. Classroom teaching is more likely to be effective when it is informed by an understanding of how students learn. Constructivism is the current approach to learning in Australian schools today. Constructivism is how each student goes about constructing his or her own knowledge. This type of Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. My Teaching Philosophy Essay My Teaching Philosophy I believe that education extends far beyond the classroom walls, and involves many more people than students and teachers. People should be learning wherever they go, and should continue learning long after they've graduated from high school or college. Education isn't something that can be quantified with tests or report cards, but is instead something that people carry with them. It's a survival pack for life, and some people are better equipped in certain areas than in others. People with a solid education are prepared for nearly anything, as they will be able to provide for their own physical, emotional, and aesthetic needs. That being said, I also believe that a crucial part of education does...show more content... The roles of a teacher are so many and so varied that it is impossible to list them all, but one of the most important is preparing students to learn, not only in the classroom, but everywhere, and for the rest of their lives. Learning is not a skill that is necessarily instinctual or easy, and therefore different approaches must be used to make learning easier and more fun for students. Teaching is not a skill that can be memorized or made repetitive, and so teachers must continue to challenge not only their students, but also themselves. Teachers that become complacent in their jobs are not good teachers. Those who can find a way to make an old lesson new and exciting will have an energized classroom, and will be reenergized themselves. Every child is different. That sounds like an obvious statement, but so many ineffective teachers seem to forget this. Each student has his or her own varying abilities, talents, and levels of competence, and it is the job of a teacher not only to recognize this, but to help each student recognize this as well. If a child isn't doing well in a particular subject, both the teacher and the student should work towards figuring out why, and the teacher should accept the challenge of finding a way to make a particular subject more Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Motivation for High School Students Essay 1 Milestone3: Motivation for High School Students Sharon Robinson Walden University 2 Milestone 3: Motivation For High School Students With so many of life many failure attempts to succeed in life, we see those individuals that have dropped out of school and feel that their life now seems meaningless. Their determination or will power wasn't strong, and they had no one to push them forward to want to be a better person or succeed in life. Some students today feel that all they have to do is just attend school just because of their parents' wishes for them to receive a diploma. Some feel that classes are boring and frustrating and a waste of time and energy. Why do students of today feel this way?...show more content... Now how can you learn if you're not interested? This is when the teacher should consider providing fun and games, praise, and love within the classrooms, making the classroom exciting and more interesting. Before entering the classrooms, teachers should sit and study each individual student and learn their likes and dislikes. They should know what particular student need help in what particular subject. Some students need more help in other subjects than other students. This is when teachers should consider making their lesson plans focusing on subject matters that are current and relevant to high school students, implementing cooperative learning strategies with their lesson plans while students show off their talents. If students are demonstrating what they have learned in a skit, they tend to learn more positively. When providing fun and game within the classrooms, the students are excited about attending class because they already know something very eventful is going to take place in that particular class. Not only are they learning they are having fun while doing so. They are able to act out some of their personal talents, giving others a sense of who they really are, and what some of their greater skills may be. The different influences on students, whether it be inside educational institutions, or outside is huge. The teacher of a classroom is the first and most pertinent influence in a student's educational career. Teachers provide students with the basic skills they would need to survive not only in the academic world, but also the world beyond. Unconsciously or not, they consistently reinforce and reward more 'feminine' behavior. Although it may be true that boys are more active than girls, but to say that they are treated differently is to be overly generalizing the situation. A teacher is supposed to be able to handle different types of children in the classroom, and cater to their activeness or passiveness in a class. For example, a teacher would try to involve a quiet and shy student as often as possible. The same goes for an active child; the teacher should be able to find activities for that child which would not only educate them, but also keep them busy. Thomas provides various arguments as to how boys and girls are different; therefore they are treated differently in a classroom. It cannot be argued that boys and girls are different, especially at such a young age, but to say that teachers specifically do treat boys in a rougher manner would be going too far. Thomas introduces the idea that society instills ideas of prejudice towards women in young boys, so that when they do go into a classroom governed by a female teacher, they are predisposed to be defiant and unruly. In my opinion, it is unfair to judge teachers based on the performance of their students on various tests. Thomas's article introduces the idea that as the number of female teachers is increasing, the performance of boys in school is declining. One much question whether it is in fact the teachers who cause this Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I will be going to highschool in an excellent school and taking classes in a great program with some of my friends. The school will be much bigger and there will be way more students attending. • 13. My Teaching Methodology As a professional teacher I am caring, passionate, enthusiastic and excited about providing engaging and challenging learning experiences. My aim is to assist, encourage and support students to achieve their learning goals. In my classroom I believe that all students have the fundamental right to have access to a successful and fulfilling education in order to be productive and valuable members of society. I take on a holistic, flexible and differentiated pedagogical approach to teaching, to allow for inclusivity within my classroom domains. I strongly believe that there is no one size fits all approach to pedagogy and learning. Therefore, I constantly need to know my students backgrounds, ethnicity, cultures, religions and capabilities to provide quality and engaging learning experiences to engage and challenge all students. When teaching my students I plan and implement a variety of teaching pedagogies to emphasis engaged learning, communication, literacy, numeracy, collaboration and problem solving through a range of technologies. Alongside this I constantly seek opportunities to make learning connected and incorporate cross–curriculum priorities which include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, Asia and Australia's engagement with Asia and Sustainability. My Growth Is A High School Student My Growth Essay Being a high school student in the tenth grade things a bit hectic all the tests and book reports I have to do I always get caught up in my school work. Since my school life consists of nothing but essays, keynotes, benchmarks and free response questions. Never anything less than teachers pressing on about double spaces, sentence patterns and "Where to put the semi–colon." I have never really noticed that they fail to teach or lecture me about unique writing skills until I got into this class. "Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle." That quote was from Napoleon Hill and it means more than enough to me because I thrive everyday to succeed in life and over the years and through this class I've learned, Growth and success are the key things. I have learned that if you put effort into all you do that you'll be surprised with what the outcome may be. That you can start now because you're never too old or too young to learn how to succeed and have a successful life. When I first started ACA 115 I didn't know what to expect, I was honestly really scared I was going to fail. I wasn't prepared for it because I signed up for it my Freshman year and I had forgot about it. Now that I've settled in and put in some effort I found that it was really easy, All I had to do was just talk about different learning styles and studying methods that work for me. Most students would wait until the last minute to study and try to cram all the information on a test in one night. But my teachers stressed that studying a little bit at a time would be the best way to go about learning the material. Another way they tried to provoke studying would be by telling us to study in a group. This method worked, but the method that I found that helped me the most was by using flash cards. It was a good way of studying especially for a test that had lots of definitions on it. But I found it much easier to look at a single piece of information instead of a whole page of notes at one time. Overall, teachers do not just teach you the facts from the books. They can help you sharpen your study skills by showing you new ways of learning. Lastly, the tutors at the school helped me to overcome my biggest fear and that was math. They helped me realize

  • 18. My Teaching Experience Essay When I first come to Saint Cloud High School, I was uncertain of how I would fit into the world of education as a teacher, in fact, this was my first teaching practice. After completing a few observations, I changed my view and recognized my teaching abilities. I was able to learn many different things that will be helpful to me when I become a certified teacher someday. Although I could face many possible challenges in the classroom, I have many of the strengths it takes to be a good teacher. There were many times during this field training that gave me a broad idea of how the ordinary life of a teacher would go. Similarly, I got a profound sense of how the classroom environment is for most instructors. In general, I believe this was a pleasant experience for me, and I learned a lot in such a brief period. The educational unit I executed has an element of my instruction beliefs that students should connect and relate theme content to real life situations inside and outside the teaching space. Therefore, during my teaching experience, I feel compromise and responsible for meeting my students' needs and that is why I included many visuals aids and plenty of flexible activities. Hence, this unit involved a mixture of student and teacher–centered strategies such as direct instruction, drill and practice of the unit vocabulary, lectures, dialogues, question and answer sessions, discussions with exchanges of opinions and perspectives, discovery learning events and presentations Get more content on HelpWriting.net

In my classroom, I don't necessarily want the students to memorize facts, bi I want them to learn and retain the information on how to find the answers.
