10 Lessons On Marketing Madness Page 3
1. “Give them quality, that’s the best kind of advertising.”
- Milton Hershey, Founder of the Hershey Chocolate Company
When this man says it, we better listen. You and me both know quality is the main marketing
asset that sells. A bad product would never sell good no matter how awesome the marketing
campaign meant to promote it is.
When it’s qualitative though it will spread like a virus. People will talk about it all over the place.
This is the way to become rich – by adding value to the marketplace… and this is the way to
marketing madness.
You saw what Apple did – they started a technology revolution, If it wasn’t for them we would
probably still be using those ugly plastic kinda smartphones… because of them and their quality
we live in times we could do almost anything using our phones. And of course they logically
became the richest company.
2. “Relying too much on proof distracts you from the real mission – which is emotional
connection.”
- Seth Godin, Entrepreneur and Author
Ok, even though I don’t like mixing emotions with business, when it comes to marketing it is a
whole different story. The one factor that will make you a marketing genius is the ability to build
emotional connections with you customers.
Us, humans make buying decisions based on our emotions mainly. This is why most marketers
online suck at monetizing, although they are full of marketing information… because they are
introvert, meaning building relationships is out of the question.
3. “If you’re not measuring, you’re not marketing.”
– Unknown
Measuring is vital and is the only way to keep track of what works, what not, and how to
improve your marketing to grow your business exponentially.
Without measuring you are like shooting blind and hoping for the best. You can not allow
yourself that if you want progress.
You have to know what channels work, and how to improve them for better results.
4. “Without promotion something terrible happens… Nothing!”
– P. T. Barnum, American Businessman

I believe that short sentence says it all. No marketing, no money. Even if you create the next
Facebook, you have to reach people somehow.
5. “The most successful communication is devoutly audience focused. Motivating the right
people with authentic, value packed content in a relatable way makes great marketing.”
– Georgiana Laudi, Director of Marketing at Unbounce [5]
That’s why blogs are the ultimate marketing tool. You need a blogging platform to publish your
awesome content and build a community.
Developing a blog needs a lot of time and knowledge, but if you build it to be audience based
and publish value it will come up to be your best marketing investment at the end.
6. “The aim of marketing is to know and understand the customer so well the product or
service fits him and sells itself.”
– Peter F. Drucker, Management Consultant
heck yeah it is… that’s really when you know you are good at what you do… when your
customers are so happy with your product, they sell it by word of mouth. Kinda hard to reach
such a marketing madness if you are on a tight budget though.
Every awesome product costs money to be created. Most times it’s a lot. Again we could take the
iPhone for example. This is the first phone that was so well accepted by almost everybody.
7. “Truly brilliant marketing happens when you take something most people think of as a
weakness and reposition it so people think of it as a strength….brilliant marketing is taking
the product you have and figuring out the right positioning.”
– Reed Hastings, Co-Founder and CEO of Netflix
You know what that means? – there are no perfect products. When you find a way to position
your product so people like it no matter what, then you reached level – marketing madness.
Positioning is everything.
8. “Focus on the core problem your business solves and put out lots of content and
enthusiasm and ideas about how to solve that problem.”
– Laura Fitton, Founder of OneForty
We know every problem needs a solution. When you give your customers the perfect one for
their problem, you will grow limitless.

9. “To be successful and grow your business and revenues, you must match the way you
market your products with the way your prospects learn about and shop for your
products.”
– Brian Halligan, Co-Founder and CEO of HubSpot
How do you want your potential customers to find out about you? Google search, or a newspaper
ad, or Facebook… you need to figure out the best approach to reach people.
10. “Don’t be afraid to get creative and experiment with your marketing.”
– Mike Volpe, CMO of HubSpot
