NOTHING SELLS LIKE FRESH CONTENT!

Imagine this for a moment...a person has just landed at your website and
this visitor has no clue what you are talking about. And imagine that is an
extremely important visitor with money to spend on your product or
service. Go one step further and pretend this one visitor is the bridge
between either your success or failure as an online entrepreneur. This
visitor does not have the time or patience to poke around your website,
trying to get a handle on what your site is all about. What if this customer
picks up the phone, calls you up and demands an explanation? What
would you tell them?

In all likelihood you'd go into detail about how you understand their
problem. You'd provide workable solutions that could eliminate their
problem altogether. You might even go so far as to provide specific
examples of how you can help. You'd take the time to explain why you are
the perfect person to meet their needs. And there's no doubt you would
do all this in the most compelling way possible given that your reputation
and income are both on the line. In a nutshell, this is exactly what Google
expects you to do with the content on your website.

Despite the popularity of social network sites like Twitter and Facebook,
search is still one of the main activities on the web, trailing just behind
email. And this hasn't changed for more than a decade. People perform
billions of unique searches every single month. And these people are in
focus mode. As a matter of fact, searchers are the most motivated people
who land on a webpage which is good news for webmasters like you.

If they are on the hunt for a particular product or service, there’s a really
good chance they’re looking to make a purchase. So, if they are searching
for reliable, interesting information and your site provides it, you're in a
prime position to convert that drive-by traffic into long-term traffic with
your content alone.

That said, search traffic is understandably important as long as that traffic
is targeted search traffic. Throughout this report we'll take a look at the
modern practice of optimizing your content for both your audience and the

search engines. Basically, you'll discover some critical tools and processes
for structuring your website in a way that grabs attention, pleases the
SERPs and makes you money all at the same time.

                       Chapter 1: What’s NOT accepted?

Search engines have become an indispensable aspect of modern life. But
the truth is, most of us don't have a clue about how to create content that
actually works. It's not necessary to learn about complex mathematical
algorithms. You only need a good understanding of the basics. So let's
take a closer look at the four major components that can keep you from
ranking your website the way you want.

     1. Rewritten/Spun Content

No matter how many updates Google puts out, one thing remains
constant: The importance and value of unique and frequently updated
content. Whenever Google discovers a group of pages with duplicate
content, it uses algorithms to choose one representative URL for that
content. What this means is that if you choose to re-post your content in
several different places, Google will probably pick just one link to display in
default search results. All other versions will be hidden.

When this happens, Google places a note at the bottom of the search
results that states: "In order to show you the most relevant results, we
have omitted some entries very similar to those already displayed. If you
like you can repeat the search with the omitted results included.” The
number of Google users who will click that link are few and far in between.
Plus you can't be sure which version Google will choose to display in the
results. All other links are subject to getting little to no search traffic at all.

And there's an even bigger price to pay. Google is now judging an entire
website based on the amount of spam and duplicate content on them. The
more rewritten, spun, or duplicate content, the more likely your entire site
and the pages on it are likely to be penalized. Your ranking could drop
dramatically or worse, your site could disappear entirely from the Google

index.

With that in mind, article spinning and re-wording is a risky practice and
like playing Russian Roulette with your business. Spun articles do not give
users anything new or useful. Instead it's simply a repackage of the exact
same content that's already out there on the web.

Do yourself a favor and don't risk it all on rewritten or spun content.
Google is working to stay one step ahead of these types of tactics. And if
you want to be successful online, it's best to keep your content fresh, up-
to-date and relevant.

     2. Content with Severely Broken English

One of the most significant aspects of writing compelling copy for the web
is making sure that every line is grammatically correct. Bear in mind, that
doesn't mean you need to have to run out and purchase a grammar
textbook to write your articles.

The trick is to strike a balance between proper grammar and a
conversational tone. Being solely devoted to perfect grammar can come
across as being arrogant and self-serving. By the same token, grammar
that's sloppy looks very unprofessional and gives your visitors the feeling
that you don't care.

The best way to strike a balance is to simply consider your target audience.
Write your articles in the same tone that you would use to speak to that
audience. Use messages that are of value and are meaningful to them.
You want your readers to relate to your articles and their messages in a way
that compels them to act. You've only got a few seconds to capture their
attention and convince them to take a closer look at what you are offering
so make sure that your content is personable and easy to relate to.

     3. Over-stuffing of Keywords

One of the oldest, most used "black hat" SEO tactics is keyword stuffing.
Keyword stuffing is loading a web page with tons of keywords in an effort

Copyright © 2012 by Articles-R-Us.net 6
to manipulate search engine rankings. Not only does this create a negative
user experience, but it also can harm the ranking of your entire site.

Instead, just include the most relevant words in your articles. Use only
those terms that users might type to answer questions or solve a particular
problem. Get to know your target market and create your content in a way
that gives them exactly what they need.

     4. Too Many Backlinks from Non-Relevant / Low-Quality Websites

The real secret to a successful SEO campaign is creating content so
compelling that it attracts links naturally as opposed to buying or begging
for links from poorly set-up, keyword-stuffed web pages.

The popularity of your content is largely based on what people do off the
page. The very same skill and care you use to create compelling content is
the same skill and care you must use to promote your content. Keep your
focus on your reader and keep in mind that no one will link to you unless
there is something in it for them.

The most credible places to receive backlinks from include:

     • Social media news sites like Digg or Reddit
     • Guest writing spots on established blogs and other content sites
          (NOT self-serving comments)
     • Social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Google +, and
          Pinterest
     • Authority sites, especially those ending in .gov or .edu

Your articles have no life of their own until they have been read. And they
gain no prominence in the SERPs until they are linked to by relevant,
authority sites. All in all, compelling content combined with smart link
attraction strategies are the keys to increasing your rank and converting
visitors into customers.

Chapter 2: VERSATILE TIPS FOR ENGAGING YOUR AUDIENCE

A well-researched, SEO optimized article tunes into the needs and desires
of the target audience. The same emotional triggers that motivate people
to buy can also cause others to link to you from blogs, like, +1, pin,
bookmark, vote for, and retweet from social media platforms all across the
web.

In this section you will be reminded of the importance of writing content
that creates value for your users. As search engine engineers work
diligently to design smarter search engine algorithms, user-driven social
networking sites work to reward sites who have the most compelling
content with unlimited links and boundless amounts of targeted traffic.

To sum it up your articles should be inviting enough to share and to link to.
They must be optimized so that search engines know what they are all
about and who might want to read them. And even more so, the articles
must convert readers to buyers. Here are some tips to make that happen
almost effortlessly.

How to structure the article for audiences

                         Outline Your Content Using Subheadings

Your subheadings should speak back to prospective readers, be relevant to
content on the page and use your targeted keyword phrase if possible.
Your subheadings should not only support the main text, but include
anything that helps it stand apart such as using captions or pull quotes.

The main goal is to aid to the overall scanability of your content and
encourage your visitors to read on for more detailed information. In other
words, your main headline should grab the reader’s interest, while your
subheadings should help to further convince the reader that he or she is in
the right place.

In addition to that, make sure your subheadings are thematically connected
with the previous heading. When you do this your articles will be more

Copyright © 2012 by Articles-R-Us.net 8
logical, easier to read and better understood. In essence, your readers
should be able to figure out what the page is about without reading the
content in its entirety.

                                   Using Bullet Points for Lists

Because searchers want to get to the point as quickly as possible when
reading online content, there's really no better way to get to the point than
with using bullet points for lists. Using lists is something that is evergreen
and will never go out of style. Top 10 lists and other countdowns help to
take the guesswork out of generating fresh ideas in your articles.

Plus, bullet points are a great compliment to digital media. They help to
build up anticipation for what's to come and gives your readers the
assurance that you can deliver on everything your headline promises.
Creating a bulleted list is also a great time saver. It allows you to simplify
your thoughts and get clear on the message you are trying to convey to
your readers. And it gets even better...bulleted lists are search engine
friendly.

                                Stand Out With Decorative Text

Draw even more attention to your content with decorative text. Increase
the size of your headings and subheading. Use a display typeface and give
headings and subheadings a different style. Use bolding to create more
typographic color. Be cautious and don't go over-board with your
decorative text. Instead, work to strike just the right balance. Avoid
overwhelming readers with outrageous fonts and colors that may not
display properly on all web browsers.

Pull Readers In With Descriptive Language

No matter what, Google has to match what a page is actually about with
what people are looking for. This means that the words in your article
must match up with the way searchers are most likely talking about it.
Understanding and mirroring the language used by your target audience
will help you to become an expert in your niche.

Copyright © 2012 by Articles-R-Us.net 9
On top of all that, it will also help you to become a much better and highly
effective communicator. Think about what types of descriptive words your
readers are using whenever they search for your products and services.
The more accurate you are in describing your products and services the
more targeted traffic you will receive.

                                  Keep a Conversational Tone

Content can cover a wide range of subjects across an even broader
audience. However the vast majority of Internet readers share a specific
preference when it comes to reading articles and other content on the
web. In short they want content that provokes emotion, is engaging and is
informative. They prefer content that can be easily skimmed over and
presented in a more laid-back and conversational style.

A great way to do this is to break up your writing with questions. You can
ask rhetorical questions followed by detailed answers. Help get your point
across by splitting up your paragraphs making them concise and tightly
focused on a certain point. Also, keep in mind that different kinds of
punctuation will have a different type of impact on the flow of any article
you write.

For example: overusing commas can confuse readers while overusing
periods can make your writing appear more fragmented and cluttered.
And be sure to add a personal angle or some type of anecdote to create an
even stronger conversational tone.

                            Using Perfect Spelling and Grammar

Grammar is an important part of any search engine optimization strategy.
Your articles don't have to be perfect, but you must have a keen
understanding of spelling and sentence structure. Invest in a good, reliable
spell checker. Spell check is an essential part of the big picture. If every
other word in your article is spelled incorrectly, your readers will see you as
unreliable, sloppy and uncaring.

When it comes to sentence structure, don't sacrifice quality for quantity.

Copyright © 2012 by Articles-R-Us.net 10
Although you may be itching to crank out as many articles as possible,
remember that your articles should have an introduction, supporting
paragraphs and a conclusion with a strong call-to-action.

                                 The Natural Flow of Keywords

Choosing the most appropriate keyword or keyword phrase for your
content has an enormous impact on how well you rank in the search
engine. For a better flow, simply find out what problems searchers are
looking for solutions to and then consider how your content and business
can be the answer. You have to make sure that the SERPs see that your
content as actually relevant to a particular keyword or keyword phrase.

A large of part of ensuring your keywords flow naturally is understanding
keyword density and keyword frequency. Keyword frequency is the
number of times your targeted keyword phrase appears in your article.
Keyword density is the ratio of those keywords to the rest of the words in
your article. It makes perfectly logical sense that keyword frequency
affects your search engine ranking. A good rule of thumb for determining
whether or not your repetition of keywords is spammy is to measure the
frequency against the overall length of the article.

A density of more than 4% may be considered keyword stuffing. This might
give Google the impression you are trying to trick them. Mindlessly
repeating keywords instead of writing so that they flow naturally will more
than likely alienate your readers and cause your ranking to slip.

Chapter 3: CREATE CONTENT GOOGLE LOVES

One of the biggest mistakes new website owners make is not paying close
attention to the value of keyword variations to better optimize their
website. While it is true that repeating the same keyword all throughout
your article may result in a higher keyword density, you may end up with
better results by using different variations of that keyword.

Search engine spiders crawl the web looking for fresh, updated content. If
the spider cannot see your content or does not understand what your
article is about, your page won't be indexed and ranked. And remember,
not all searchers think alike. Choosing different variations of your main
keyword gives you the ability to reach more readers. Fill your content with
keywords and variations of those keywords in a natural way so that your
site appeals to both searchers and search engines. Keyword variations
open up the pathway to receiving hidden traffic. The three main ways to
easily optimize your article with keyword variation is by using plurals,
misspellings, and acronyms.

Just about every keyword has a plural. For instance, instead of saying "new
car" add in the keyword “new cars." When it comes to misspellings, you
only want to include the most common misspelling of your keyword in
order to keep your article from looking unprofessional. Brand names such
as Abercrombie, Motorola, PlayStation or Nintendo are often misspelled. If
you are focusing on a keyword that is an acronym like SEO, simply write out
the words completely (search engine optimization) so that you can target
those visitors who are not familiar with the acronym.

And lastly, don’t be afraid to rephrase your keyword phrases. For example:
The search engine crawlers are smart enough to know that “article
marketing” and “marketing an article” both mean the same thing and will
see it as such.

Chapter 4: WHAT TO DO NEXT?
“Ok, I now know what it takes to create winning content and keep my websites
ranked high in Google, Bing, Yahoo and any other search engine powerhouses of
the future! Now what?

It’s a fact that’s proven every single day. Most people don’t do diddly squat with
what they learn – no matter how rich and successful it could make them.

As an author, I feel it is my responsibility to give you – my reader – the very best
information and guidance. But it is YOU who must take that FIRST STEP into
making your dreams come true. So I’ve compiled a list of steps below that require
as little of your time and money as possible. Read them carefully and TAKE
ACTION!

                                    Here’s What To Do Next

Step #1: Article Writing

Use the valuable information I shared in this book to create award-winning
caliber (or at the very least, decent) content.

10-15 well-written articles related your niche will give you a nice start. Write
them up, save them to your blog and pre-schedule each article to automatically
post every 2-3 days.

If you don’t consider yourself a writer, that’s perfectly fine. There are plenty of
professional article writing services and writers available on the web who are
ready and willing to write your articles on your behalf.

Of course, there’s only one Articles ‘R’ Us ;-)

For unparalleled customer service, added bonuses and inexpensive pricing – I
highly recommend giving our trial packages a shot. We’ll do the blog posting for
you, as well as implement key ON-PAGE SEO tactics for optimal optimization ☺

Regardless of who you choose to write your content, make sure to take notes on
what was covered in Chapter 2 and include them in your guidelines. Most writers
either don’t know half of what you learned in this book or won’t care to go the
extra mile to make your content SE-friendly if you don’t tell them to.

Copyright © 2012 by Articles-R-Us.net 13
Step #2: Article Marketing

Naturally, after writing your articles or receiving them from your service provider,
you’d want to market them and get them seen by your target audience. Here’s a
word of advice that cannot be understated.

Stay Away From Spinning & Submission Services!

We’ve already covered much of why you should avoid such things in Chapter 1 as
these methods are exactly what Google has been targeting.

It’s important that you seize total control over the distribution of your content.
Contrary to what many of these article submission services have you believing, it
doesn’t take a lot of work, nor is it necessary to submit your articles to 107 article
directories. Not only is this tactic strenuous (or expensive if you pay someone),
the overall strategy (or lack thereof) is overused and outdated.

If you’re willing to take your article writing and marketing strategy to the next
level, the next page has EXACTLY what you need to grow your business in the
quickest, most time & cost-efficient way possible through ancient article
marketing tactics (seriously, this stuff has been around for more than a century –
used OFFLINE before the internet!). Scroll down to see what I mean.

  • 4. NOTHING SELLS LIKE FRESH CONTENT! Imagine this for a moment...a person has just landed at your website and this visitor has no clue what you are talking about. And imagine that is an extremely important visitor with money to spend on your product or service. Go one step further and pretend this one visitor is the bridge between either your success or failure as an online entrepreneur. This visitor does not have the time or patience to poke around your website, trying to get a handle on what your site is all about. What if this customer picks up the phone, calls you up and demands an explanation? What would you tell them? In all likelihood you'd go into detail about how you understand their problem. You'd provide workable solutions that could eliminate their problem altogether. You might even go so far as to provide specific examples of how you can help. You'd take the time to explain why you are the perfect person to meet their needs. And there's no doubt you would do all this in the most compelling way possible given that your reputation and income are both on the line. In a nutshell, this is exactly what Google expects you to do with the content on your website. Despite the popularity of social network sites like Twitter and Facebook, search is still one of the main activities on the web, trailing just behind email. And this hasn't changed for more than a decade. People perform billions of unique searches every single month. And these people are in focus mode. As a matter of fact, searchers are the most motivated people who land on a webpage which is good news for webmasters like you. If they are on the hunt for a particular product or service, there’s a really good chance they’re looking to make a purchase. So, if they are searching for reliable, interesting information and your site provides it, you're in a prime position to convert that drive-by traffic into long-term traffic with your content alone. That said, search traffic is understandably important as long as that traffic is targeted search traffic. Throughout this report we'll take a look at the modern practice of optimizing your content for both your audience and the Copyright © 2012 by Articles-R-Us.net 4
  • 5. search engines. Basically, you'll discover some critical tools and processes for structuring your website in a way that grabs attention, pleases the SERPs and makes you money all at the same time. Chapter 1: What’s NOT accepted? Search engines have become an indispensable aspect of modern life. But the truth is, most of us don't have a clue about how to create content that actually works. It's not necessary to learn about complex mathematical algorithms. You only need a good understanding of the basics. So let's take a closer look at the four major components that can keep you from ranking your website the way you want. 1. Rewritten/Spun Content No matter how many updates Google puts out, one thing remains constant: The importance and value of unique and frequently updated content. Whenever Google discovers a group of pages with duplicate content, it uses algorithms to choose one representative URL for that content. What this means is that if you choose to re-post your content in several different places, Google will probably pick just one link to display in default search results. All other versions will be hidden. When this happens, Google places a note at the bottom of the search results that states: "In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to those already displayed. If you like you can repeat the search with the omitted results included.” The number of Google users who will click that link are few and far in between. Plus you can't be sure which version Google will choose to display in the results. All other links are subject to getting little to no search traffic at all. And there's an even bigger price to pay. Google is now judging an entire website based on the amount of spam and duplicate content on them. The more rewritten, spun, or duplicate content, the more likely your entire site and the pages on it are likely to be penalized. Your ranking could drop dramatically or worse, your site could disappear entirely from the Google Copyright © 2012 by Articles-R-Us.net 5
  • 6. index. With that in mind, article spinning and re-wording is a risky practice and like playing Russian Roulette with your business. Spun articles do not give users anything new or useful. Instead it's simply a repackage of the exact same content that's already out there on the web. Do yourself a favor and don't risk it all on rewritten or spun content. Google is working to stay one step ahead of these types of tactics. And if you want to be successful online, it's best to keep your content fresh, up- to-date and relevant. 2. Content with Severely Broken English One of the most significant aspects of writing compelling copy for the web is making sure that every line is grammatically correct. Bear in mind, that doesn't mean you need to have to run out and purchase a grammar textbook to write your articles. The trick is to strike a balance between proper grammar and a conversational tone. Being solely devoted to perfect grammar can come across as being arrogant and self-serving. By the same token, grammar that's sloppy looks very unprofessional and gives your visitors the feeling that you don't care. The best way to strike a balance is to simply consider your target audience. Write your articles in the same tone that you would use to speak to that audience. Use messages that are of value and are meaningful to them. You want your readers to relate to your articles and their messages in a way that compels them to act. You've only got a few seconds to capture their attention and convince them to take a closer look at what you are offering so make sure that your content is personable and easy to relate to. 3. Over-stuffing of Keywords One of the oldest, most used "black hat" SEO tactics is keyword stuffing. Keyword stuffing is loading a web page with tons of keywords in an effort Copyright © 2012 by Articles-R-Us.net 6
  • 7. to manipulate search engine rankings. Not only does this create a negative user experience, but it also can harm the ranking of your entire site. Instead, just include the most relevant words in your articles. Use only those terms that users might type to answer questions or solve a particular problem. Get to know your target market and create your content in a way that gives them exactly what they need. 4. Too Many Backlinks from Non-Relevant / Low-Quality Websites The real secret to a successful SEO campaign is creating content so compelling that it attracts links naturally as opposed to buying or begging for links from poorly set-up, keyword-stuffed web pages. The popularity of your content is largely based on what people do off the page. The very same skill and care you use to create compelling content is the same skill and care you must use to promote your content. Keep your focus on your reader and keep in mind that no one will link to you unless there is something in it for them. The most credible places to receive backlinks from include: • Social media news sites like Digg or Reddit • Guest writing spots on established blogs and other content sites (NOT self-serving comments) • Social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Google +, and Pinterest • Authority sites, especially those ending in .gov or .edu Your articles have no life of their own until they have been read. And they gain no prominence in the SERPs until they are linked to by relevant, authority sites. All in all, compelling content combined with smart link attraction strategies are the keys to increasing your rank and converting visitors into customers. Copyright © 2012 by Articles-R-Us.net 7
  • 8. Chapter 2: VERSATILE TIPS FOR ENGAGING YOUR AUDIENCE A well-researched, SEO optimized article tunes into the needs and desires of the target audience. The same emotional triggers that motivate people to buy can also cause others to link to you from blogs, like, +1, pin, bookmark, vote for, and retweet from social media platforms all across the web. In this section you will be reminded of the importance of writing content that creates value for your users. As search engine engineers work diligently to design smarter search engine algorithms, user-driven social networking sites work to reward sites who have the most compelling content with unlimited links and boundless amounts of targeted traffic. To sum it up your articles should be inviting enough to share and to link to. They must be optimized so that search engines know what they are all about and who might want to read them. And even more so, the articles must convert readers to buyers. Here are some tips to make that happen almost effortlessly. How to structure the article for audiences Outline Your Content Using Subheadings Your subheadings should speak back to prospective readers, be relevant to content on the page and use your targeted keyword phrase if possible. Your subheadings should not only support the main text, but include anything that helps it stand apart such as using captions or pull quotes. The main goal is to aid to the overall scanability of your content and encourage your visitors to read on for more detailed information. In other words, your main headline should grab the reader’s interest, while your subheadings should help to further convince the reader that he or she is in the right place. In addition to that, make sure your subheadings are thematically connected with the previous heading. When you do this your articles will be more Copyright © 2012 by Articles-R-Us.net 8
  • 9. logical, easier to read and better understood. In essence, your readers should be able to figure out what the page is about without reading the content in its entirety. Using Bullet Points for Lists Because searchers want to get to the point as quickly as possible when reading online content, there's really no better way to get to the point than with using bullet points for lists. Using lists is something that is evergreen and will never go out of style. Top 10 lists and other countdowns help to take the guesswork out of generating fresh ideas in your articles. Plus, bullet points are a great compliment to digital media. They help to build up anticipation for what's to come and gives your readers the assurance that you can deliver on everything your headline promises. Creating a bulleted list is also a great time saver. It allows you to simplify your thoughts and get clear on the message you are trying to convey to your readers. And it gets even better...bulleted lists are search engine friendly. Stand Out With Decorative Text Draw even more attention to your content with decorative text. Increase the size of your headings and subheading. Use a display typeface and give headings and subheadings a different style. Use bolding to create more typographic color. Be cautious and don't go over-board with your decorative text. Instead, work to strike just the right balance. Avoid overwhelming readers with outrageous fonts and colors that may not display properly on all web browsers. Pull Readers In With Descriptive Language No matter what, Google has to match what a page is actually about with what people are looking for. This means that the words in your article must match up with the way searchers are most likely talking about it. Understanding and mirroring the language used by your target audience will help you to become an expert in your niche. Copyright © 2012 by Articles-R-Us.net 9
  • 10. On top of all that, it will also help you to become a much better and highly effective communicator. Think about what types of descriptive words your readers are using whenever they search for your products and services. The more accurate you are in describing your products and services the more targeted traffic you will receive. Keep a Conversational Tone Content can cover a wide range of subjects across an even broader audience. However the vast majority of Internet readers share a specific preference when it comes to reading articles and other content on the web. In short they want content that provokes emotion, is engaging and is informative. They prefer content that can be easily skimmed over and presented in a more laid-back and conversational style. A great way to do this is to break up your writing with questions. You can ask rhetorical questions followed by detailed answers. Help get your point across by splitting up your paragraphs making them concise and tightly focused on a certain point. Also, keep in mind that different kinds of punctuation will have a different type of impact on the flow of any article you write. For example: overusing commas can confuse readers while overusing periods can make your writing appear more fragmented and cluttered. And be sure to add a personal angle or some type of anecdote to create an even stronger conversational tone. Using Perfect Spelling and Grammar Grammar is an important part of any search engine optimization strategy. Your articles don't have to be perfect, but you must have a keen understanding of spelling and sentence structure. Invest in a good, reliable spell checker. Spell check is an essential part of the big picture. If every other word in your article is spelled incorrectly, your readers will see you as unreliable, sloppy and uncaring. When it comes to sentence structure, don't sacrifice quality for quantity. Copyright © 2012 by Articles-R-Us.net 10
  • 11. Although you may be itching to crank out as many articles as possible, remember that your articles should have an introduction, supporting paragraphs and a conclusion with a strong call-to-action. The Natural Flow of Keywords Choosing the most appropriate keyword or keyword phrase for your content has an enormous impact on how well you rank in the search engine. For a better flow, simply find out what problems searchers are looking for solutions to and then consider how your content and business can be the answer. You have to make sure that the SERPs see that your content as actually relevant to a particular keyword or keyword phrase. A large of part of ensuring your keywords flow naturally is understanding keyword density and keyword frequency. Keyword frequency is the number of times your targeted keyword phrase appears in your article. Keyword density is the ratio of those keywords to the rest of the words in your article. It makes perfectly logical sense that keyword frequency affects your search engine ranking. A good rule of thumb for determining whether or not your repetition of keywords is spammy is to measure the frequency against the overall length of the article. A density of more than 4% may be considered keyword stuffing. This might give Google the impression you are trying to trick them. Mindlessly repeating keywords instead of writing so that they flow naturally will more than likely alienate your readers and cause your ranking to slip. Copyright © 2012 by Articles-R-Us.net 11
  • 12. Chapter 3: CREATE CONTENT GOOGLE LOVES One of the biggest mistakes new website owners make is not paying close attention to the value of keyword variations to better optimize their website. While it is true that repeating the same keyword all throughout your article may result in a higher keyword density, you may end up with better results by using different variations of that keyword. Search engine spiders crawl the web looking for fresh, updated content. If the spider cannot see your content or does not understand what your article is about, your page won't be indexed and ranked. And remember, not all searchers think alike. Choosing different variations of your main keyword gives you the ability to reach more readers. Fill your content with keywords and variations of those keywords in a natural way so that your site appeals to both searchers and search engines. Keyword variations open up the pathway to receiving hidden traffic. The three main ways to easily optimize your article with keyword variation is by using plurals, misspellings, and acronyms. Just about every keyword has a plural. For instance, instead of saying "new car" add in the keyword “new cars." When it comes to misspellings, you only want to include the most common misspelling of your keyword in order to keep your article from looking unprofessional. Brand names such as Abercrombie, Motorola, PlayStation or Nintendo are often misspelled. If you are focusing on a keyword that is an acronym like SEO, simply write out the words completely (search engine optimization) so that you can target those visitors who are not familiar with the acronym. And lastly, don’t be afraid to rephrase your keyword phrases. For example: The search engine crawlers are smart enough to know that “article marketing” and “marketing an article” both mean the same thing and will see it as such. Chapter 4: WHAT TO DO NEXT? “Ok, I now know what it takes to create winning content and keep my websites ranked high in Google, Bing, Yahoo and any other search engine powerhouses of the future! Now what? It’s a fact that’s proven every single day. Most people don’t do diddly squat with what they learn – no matter how rich and successful it could make them. As an author, I feel it is my responsibility to give you – my reader – the very best information and guidance. But it is YOU who must take that FIRST STEP into making your dreams come true. So I’ve compiled a list of steps below that require as little of your time and money as possible. Read them carefully and TAKE ACTION! Here’s What To Do Next Step #1: Article Writing Use the valuable information I shared in this book to create award-winning caliber (or at the very least, decent) content. 10-15 well-written articles related your niche will give you a nice start. Write them up, save them to your blog and pre-schedule each article to automatically post every 2-3 days. If you don’t consider yourself a writer, that’s perfectly fine. There are plenty of professional article writing services and writers available on the web who are ready and willing to write your articles on your behalf. Of course, there’s only one Articles ‘R’ Us ;-) For unparalleled customer service, added bonuses and inexpensive pricing – I highly recommend giving our trial packages a shot. We’ll do the blog posting for you, as well as implement key ON-PAGE SEO tactics for optimal optimization ☺ Regardless of who you choose to write your content, make sure to take notes on what was covered in Chapter 2 and include them in your guidelines. Most writers either don’t know half of what you learned in this book or won’t care to go the extra mile to make your content SE-friendly if you don’t tell them to. • 14. Step #2: Article Marketing Naturally, after writing your articles or receiving them from your service provider, you’d want to market them and get them seen by your target audience. Here’s a word of advice that cannot be understated. Stay Away From Spinning & Submission Services! We’ve already covered much of why you should avoid such things in Chapter 1 as these methods are exactly what Google has been targeting. It’s important that you seize total control over the distribution of your content. Contrary to what many of these article submission services have you believing, it doesn’t take a lot of work, nor is it necessary to submit your articles to 107 article directories. Not only is this tactic strenuous (or expensive if you pay someone), the overall strategy (or lack thereof) is overused and outdated. If you’re willing to take your article writing and marketing strategy to the next level, the next page has EXACTLY what you need to grow your business in the quickest, most time & cost-efficient way possible through ancient article marketing tactics (seriously, this stuff has been around for more than a century – used OFFLINE before the internet!).
