2. ADP EU funded project 2003 - 2008
• Established 23 Automated Weather Station Network (AWSN) of
limited number reading sensors
• It covered most main agricultural localities over Lebanon
• Objectives was to establish AgroMeteorological network for an Early
Warning System (EWS), mainly Forecast System for Pest and Disease

3. Early Warning System of LARI (main steps)
• SMS-farmers-EWS continued from 2008 till 2015 (after the ADP project);
daily messages
• In 2011 the AWSN starting to increase in number steadily
• Reached 60 overall Lebanon
• Early 2015, LARI launched a free app to communicate with farmers and as
EWS
• Daily messages on LARI-LEB app
• 2019 users were
