7. Project Synopsis
This project report on collection in fashion has been created, developed and design by me. During my
course of study, I learned about all this subjects like draping, pattern making, Photoshop, Corel draw
print development and took a lots of inspiration from all subjects.
After learning all this subject I got a case study to solve, I worked upon my own collection where I was
given a case study to design a collection for young girl and the design should be trendy also in which I
designed 6 dresses for a girl and constructed one out of six in reality.
Not only this worked upon one more collection in which I was inspired from waste fabric to recycled
fashion. I’ve also done some extra work which I’ve included in this project.

A collection is a range of garments, that are
designed and produced for sale to retailers or
direct to customers. This range of pieces may
be inspired by a trend and designed for a
season or particular occasion. A collection is
a grouping of outfits or looks that are
presented in a variety of ways, from catwalk
presentation to online web pages. Collections
are usually constructed from a combination
of silhouttes, colours and fabric

10. Fashion Design Elements
Design is a matter of making known elements in new and
exiting ways and order to create fresh and pleasing
combinations. The main elements of fashion design are line,
shape, texture, pattern and colour. Awareness of these
elements will help to evaluate whether a design is good or
not, create fashion illusions and spot trends and changes in
the fashion world. In addition, understanding how these
elements can be executed and manipulated essential for
good designing.

11. Principles and aesthetics
Beauty is a quality that gives pleasure to the sense. It
creates appositive emotional reaction in the viewers. Most
psychologists believe beauty and aesthetic are essential to
human life. The principles of aesthetic constitute an
important part of the aesthetic values required in fashion
design, which are also the determinants of the effect of any
designs, aesthetic value and aesthetic judgment both play
important roles in the success of any designs. These two
aspects help to judge any design objective.

design elements and principles. Design is the
plan used to put an idea together, the process of
designing is the selecting and combining of the
design elements according to the principles of

13. Form and function
Functional garment such as military wear and expedition
clothing , have long influence clothing, have long influenced
fashion designers. A garment defines an entire fashion category
of its own, such as the Barbour, waxed cotton shooting, fishing
jacket that has become an iconic fashion statement in its own
right.
Hussein chalayan trained as an architect before studying fashion at Central Saint
Martins, London. He is known for his conceptual collection and intellectual
approach, for example, he burried his graduated collection to see how it would
decompose.

15. Design a range of 4 design for a young girl of age 15-25 year . The design should be in trend and garments created
must have use of various Elements and Textures.
You are require to produce 4 designs in full colors and all designs should be illustrated as working drawing
.Consideration should be given to design including construction as well as surface interest of a three dimensional
