2. INFLUENCES
My influences are other films within the British film industry such as Shank
and Kidulthood. This is due to the fact that they have been able to
successfully capture British teenage youth culture whilst holding a level
a realism which made it both truthful and relatable. I am inspired to
make a film that captures both the consequences and decisions that are
made on impulse by many teenagers in this day and age.
I decided to reflect my own, and other individuals personal experiences in
this film to portray different perspectives on the same subject matter.
Within my group we decided to make our target audience aged 15-25 as
the themes and setting of this film aims to reflect their reality.

3. CHARACTERS & LOCATION
• Working class background, lives in a London council estate.
• Family of four; a mother and 3 brothers, active home life.
Brian McCarthy: The younger brother who gets violently mugged in the opening scene. Working class
background, male 14-16 years old. He attends secondary school has dark hair, brown eyes, 5’7 height,
British citizen and white ethnicity. He is interested in video games, popular music and football.
Connor McCarthy: Brown eyes, Dark hair 6’1 height. Studying a level media studies and BTEC sports in
college. Connor is outgoing interested in rap music, football and has a heavy social life. (Connor is a
typical teenager)
Jason McCarthy: Brown eyes, Dark hair, he is the smartest of the brothers studying A level psychology and
A level art. He is also outgoing interested in football, doesn’t have a heavy social life and aspires to be a
psychologist.
Location: South London housing estate. This is the chosen setting as it can convey that these characters
aren’t the most affluent, this shows the contrasting mindset of the brothers as one wants to get out and
one wants to drift along.

4. PLOT
Brian is walking home from school and is violently mugged. Connor and Jason are
engulfed in rage and decided to find the muggers however the mugger escapes.
To weeks later, the mugger tries to rob Brian again however this time Jason And
Connor were walking a couple of feet behind, after a few minutes of struggling
between the mugger and the brothers, Jason picks up a plank of wood and
smashes it against the muggers head, this causes the mugger to die. Shocked
and panicked the brothers run away from the scene and go home.
Connor asks Jason why he did it and Jason stutters the words “It was a mistake”.
The next day the police surround the crime scene as Brian is walking past on is way to
school.
Jason and Connor are paralyzed with fear. They decided to keep quiet and make a
promise to never speak on the incident again.
