Kisan Credit Card is a credit card to
provide affordable credit for farmers in India.
IndiaThe Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme is
a credit scheme introduced in August 1998 by
Indian banks.
This model scheme was prepared by
the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural
Development (NABARD) on the
recommendations of R.V. GUPTA committee to
provide term loans and agricultural needs.
Its objective is to meet the comprehensive
credit requirements of the agriculture sector.
3. Features and benefits
Get interest at saving bank rate on credit balance in
KCC account
Free ATM cum debit card (State Bank Kisan Card) for
all KCC borrowers
Interest subvention @2%p.a.is available for loan
amount upto Rs. 3 Lacs

4. Eligibility
All farmers – individuals/Joint cultivator owners
Minimum Age – 18 years.
Maximum Age – 75 years.
In case a borrower is a senior citizen (age more than 60
years),
a co-borrower is mandatory where the co-borrower
should be a legal heir
5. Quantum of loan
Quantum of loan for 1st year will be
assessed on the basis of Cost of cultivation
Post-harvest expenses and farm
maintenance cost
For subsequent 5 year loan will be
sanction on the basis of increase in scale of
finance
6. Rate of Interest
Simple interest @7% p.a will be charged for one year or
upto the repayment due date, whichever is earlier.
all the croploans up to Rs. 3 lakh are being disbursed at
the interest rate of 7% p.a.
but Govt. of India also provides interest subvention of
3% p.a. to prompt
repaying farmers
thus making available the crop loans to them at 4% p.a.
and if the customer has a sound track record for three
years, he/she is
eligible for an increase in the credit limit.
In case of non-repayment within the due dates interest is
applied at card rate
