ABSTRACT
Advance manufacturing is the use of
innovative technology to improve the product of
they Technology adoption and ability to use the
technology remain competitive and value define
the advance manufacturing sector and we
discussed about the manufacturing machines and
how the software are developed in advance
machine development in manufacturing process and
the advanced manufacturing techniques in
mechanical, Electrochemical and we discussed the
advance hybridization process
WHAT IS MANUFACTURING?
There are many ways and definition are available to explain
the concept of manufacturing
A . The process of converting raw materials into finished
products
B. Manufacturing is a very broad activity ,encompassing
many functions into every thing for the quality control
into a new product
C. Chemical and physical transformation of the material
substances
D. Manufacturing is a value addition activity to the raw
material ,substances or components
E. Manufacturing is the process through which the product
are made through various production activities
SOME FACTS ABOUT
MANUFACTURING
• Let us , first look at some historical facts
about manufacturing follows
• Manufacturing activities are started during
5000-4000BC it self
• In this period , the manufacturing are
mostly wood works ,metal works and stone
works
DEVELOPMENT OF MANUFACTURING
After the development of computer
many manufacturing machines and software are
developed,
1.CNC MACHINES
2.GROUP TECHNOLOGY
3.ROBOTICS AND CONTROL
4.CAD/CAM ADAPTIVE CONTROL
Advanced manufacturing process (including advanced
casting ,joining machining and finishing methods)
Advanced Machine Development
• Hybrid manufacturing process
• Micro machining process
• Nano manufacturing
• Hard machining
NEED FOR ADVANCED
MANUFACTURING
• Limitations in conventional methods
• Rapid improvement in material properties .
• High tolerance requirements
• Product requirements
• High production with low cost
ADVANCED MANUFACTURING
TECHNIQUES
MECHANICAL
USWM (ULTRA SONIC WELDING MACHINE)
WJCM (WATER JET CUTTING MACHINE)
ULTRA SONIC WELDING MACHINE
• ECM (ELECTRO CHEMICAL MACHINING)
• EBM (ELECTRON BEAM MACHINING)
ELECTROCHEMICAL &CHEMICAL
IN MANUFACTURING TECHNIQUES
HYBRIDIZATION MANUFACTURING
PROCESS
• Abrasive electrochemical grinding-(AECG)
• Abrasive electrochemical honing-(AECH)
• Electrochemical arc machining-(ECAM)
• Magnetic abrasive machining –(MAF)
• Magnetic abrasive flow machining-(MAFFM)
• Electrochemical discharge machining-(ECDM)
HYBRIDISATION –ECG
• Similarly hybridization in the form of
electro chemical grinding (ECG)
Process can be obtained
Grinding + Electrochemical machining =ECG
HOW TO BECAME A
MANUFACTURER
• They manufacturer have a good ideas about
the manufacturing process and they have the
product to be manufactured
• They have advanced raw material for the
product development
• The customer requirements have increased in
manifolds and the demand is for
customization along the basic requirements of
high quality ,low cost ,timely delivery & service
ADVANCED HYBRIDIZATIONS
• Due to the enormous population growth
,there is an increasing necessity of providing
and developing the processing resources
• AS seen the manufacturing caters to almost
every segments in day to day life activities
• Some of these examples where manufactured
products are used include kitchen items ,
furniture ,building-products , doors, medical
equipment ,office equipment ,pipelines ,robots
AFM PROCESS
• Abrasive flow machining (AFM) They
hybrid EDM process ,the electrochemical
machining process and ultra sonic
machining (USM) are the basic processor
developed people are working in these
areas they are given individual counter
parts
HYBRID MANUFACTURING RESEARCH
PROCESS
• Hybrid manufacturing promises most of the
things
• Researchers are in-progress to make them
more suitable at the production stage
• once developed they will help in giving
valuable suitable for the future
• In advanced hybrid welding process have
been developed in the industries are used
for working
TYPES OF JOBS IN MANUFACTURING
AREAS
Designers: Engineers, Designers and Technologists. Designing products in such a way
that they are easy to manufacture.
Makers: Operators, Technicians, Process Engineers, Supervisors and Testers.
Making products with quality and efficiency.
Improvers: Engineers, Market Researchers, Operators and Technicians.
Identifying, analyzing and improving existing manufacturing processes.
Sellers: Sell inventory to customers: Technical Sales, Customer Support, Marketing,
Graphic Design and Social Media. Identifying customer needs and providing products
that meet those needs.
Distributors: Distribute products to customers: Planners, Buyers, Inventory
Specialists, Packing & Shipping, Pilots & Drivers and Customer Service.
Distributing products to customers quickly and at a low cost.
Supporters: Customer Support, Equipment Installers, Repair& Maintenance and
Operators. Supporting customer use of manufactured products.
ADVANTAGE OF MANUFACTURING
• The manufacturing is to increase in
economic level which demand higher
quality and luxury
• The development of technology has led to
new alternatives and for the new product
with increase sophistication and comforts
• Manufacturing is considered as the back
bone of the developing and developed
countries
DISADVANTAGE OF MANUFACTURING
• The manufacturing has many advantage
and some disadvantage can overcome it.
• The disadvantage of the manufacturing is
depend upon the machine
CONCLUSION
The term advance manufacturing
encompass many of the development in
manufacturing field during the late 20th
century and early 21st century including high
technology products the manufacturing entity
make extensive use of computer high precision
and information technology and the product
should be efficiency and production
