 Pakistan has always used OIC as a
platform to gather support on the Kashmir conflict against the
Republic of India
 Representation of China In OIC through Pakistan
 Supporting Bosnians in war against Croatians and Serbs.
 Pakistan supported Bosnian Muslims with technical and Military
help. Despite the ban of UN, ISI secretly provided the anti-tank
Missiles and armoury that included small weapons to Bosnians

 The OIC consists of :
Islamic Summit

various areas.
 Islamic development bank
 Islamic educational ,scientific and cultural organization
 Islamic states broadcasting organization
 International Islamic news agency
 Islamic committee of the international crescent
 The scientific , technology and innovation organization
OIC did not act upon?
 The USA started the war against Iraq and the organization of
Islamic cooperation was just a spectator.
 On wards USA attacked Afghanistan and nothing was done by
OIC.
 Daily killing of Muslims in Iraq ,AFGHANISTAN , BURMA AND
PALESTINE were seen but the OIC and did not try any effort to
solve the issue.
 Rebels in Libya were supported by French air force and the
NATO but the OIC did not move forward to even take a notice.
Weakness of OIC
 OIC members represent 22 per cent of the world population, have 2 per
cent of the world's GDP, 1.3 per cent of the world trade and only 1.5 per
cent of the investments. Twenty five per cent of OIC population does not
have access to medical facilities or safe drinking water.
 Half of the population lives below the poverty line classified as the most
poor. No Muslim country is in the top list of the Human Development
Index or in any other global economic indicators
 The OIC member countries possess 70 per cent of the world's energy
resources and 40 per cent of available raw material but their GDP is
only 5 per cent of the world GDP. Muslim countries miserably lag
behind in education and technology.
 They produce only 500 PhDs each year as compared to 3,000 in India
and 5,000 in the United Kingdom. None of their educational or research
institutions or centers of excellence find place in the top 100 in the
world.
OIC role on Palestine issue
 Exerting every effort to end the Israeli occupation of the
Palestinian territories occupied since 1967, and extending active
support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination
and for the establishment of their independent State with Al
Quds Al Sharif as its capital.
 All the OIC summits and conferences of foreign ministers discuss
the progress on the issue of Palestine and showed their
determination to stand with the people of Palestine until they get
their independence from the cruelity of Israel.
 Working with the international community in order to compel
Israel to put an end to its settlement activities and to dismantle
the settlements inside the Palestinian territories.
OIC role On Palestine issue
Conclusion
The Organization of Muslim Cooperation (OIC) has so far
miserably failed to liberate the long-persecuted Palestinians
from the yoke of imperial Israel. The organisation of the
divided Muslim countries has only issued rhetorical
statements in favour of Palestine, without any practical
action.
OIC role on Kashmir issue
 Pakistan has always used OIC as a platform to gather support on
Kashmir conflict against the Republic of India.
 In 1969 King Hassan of Morocco invited the Government of India for
the 1969 Summit in Rabat.
 During the OIC 1994 Conference in Tehran, Pakistan succeeded in
persuading the member countries to create the "OIC Contact Group on
Kashmir".
 Latest News
 Yousaf Ahmad Al-Othaimeen, talks with Advisor on Foreign Affairs, the
OIC has been urging India to provide access to Kashmir but
unfortunately India has declined to accede to the request.
 Despite after denial by India, the OIC general sectrary said, "we should
keep pressure on New Delhi on the issue of human rights violations in
Kashmir and peaceful resolution of the dispute.“
 He said terrorism is terrorism and we must work together to combat
islamophobia and the rising incident of hatred against Muslims.
OIC role on Syria, Afghanistan and
Bangladesh
 On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, to stem
bloodshed in Syria, alleviate the suffering and plight of
Syrians, and make way for aid organizations to provide
urgent humanitarian assistance to the affected persons
across Syria, the Secretary General of the Organization of
Islamic Cooperation, Iyad Ameen Madani, called for a truce
and ceasefire in all Syrian territory.
 OIC played a minimum role by giving Support of ethical
and materialism to Afghanistan during soviet agression
(USA attack).
 In 1974 the conflict between newly formed Bangladesh and
Pakistan was sucessfully solved by Organization.
Conclusion
 All the summits conference clearly shows the prime
objectives of the OIC is to promote harmony and great
cooperation among Muslims. And to protect their interest
in international system. But the fact is that the current
situation of this Organization is worse than former. One of
the most visible failure of oic is the non response on the
issue os palestine, Syria and the Israel- Libnan conflict.
However it is proved effective in most of the issue on the
other hand it also quite in the some major issues.
