UPES Petrotech Chapter proudly hosted the 6th Annual Convention of Petrotech Chapters at the UPES Campus on 25-02-2014. The Petrotech Convention turned out to be a huge success with chapters from Amrita University, Coimbatore, RGIPT Rai Bareilly, ISM Dhanbad, IIT Madras, MIT Pune, Osmania University, Delhi University and UPES itself congregating at Dehradun to participate in the convention.

UPES Petrotech Chapter proudly hosted the 6th Annual Convention of Petrotech
Chapters at the UPES Campus on 25-02-2014. The Petrotech Convention turned out to be a
huge success with chapters from Amrita University, Coimbatore, RGIPTRai Bareilly,
ISMDhanbad, IIT Madras, MIT Pune, Osmania University, Delhi Universityand UPES
itself congregating at Dehradun to participate in the convention. The dignitaries who were
present in the convention were Mr. Ashok Anand(DG, Petrotech),Ms. Jatinder Peters
(Sec.,Petrotech)andMs. Suman Gupta (Manager,Petrotech). UPES Petrotech Chapter was
very proud to have Mr. S. Rath, Director, Operations, OIL, as our Chief Guest. Dr.Y.K
Sharma, Chief Scientist and Head, Advance Crude Oil ResearchCentre, IIP, Dehradun and
Dr. M. Shanukhappa, GGM, Geology, KDMIPE, ONGC, Dehradun were present at the
convention as jury members for presentation contest by different chapters on the theme “
India- A Global R & D Destination- Challenges and Opportunities. UPES Petrotech
Chapter proudly won the “Best Chapter Award” amidst all dignitaries and chapters from
different colleges with huge applause.ISM Dhanbadwas awarded the 1stposition
whileUPESwon the second position.in the presentation contest. Mr. Ashok Anand, DG,
Petrotech spoke about the convention to the gathering and Dr. ShriHari, Campus Director
addressed the gathering and thanked the Petrotech Society for giving UPES an opportunity
to organize the convention.Dr. MandiraAgarwal, Convenor, UPES Petrotech Chapter gave a
vote of thanks.
After Lunch, fun events like Quizzes, Dumb Charades were organized for the student
members from various chapters. The much awaited cultural evening withplethora of fun and
entertainmenstarted at 17:30 hrs. The evening kicked off with Ganesh Vandana followed by
song, energetic and peppy dance group performance, a comedy act etc.
