According to Article 11 of the Convention, and to the UNESCO impulse in an
involvement of communities, groups and relevant NGOs in the identification and
definition and safeguarding of elements of the ICH
We are testing two Inventorying programmes from bottom-up level, focused on
the participation between different agents such as
• professional anthropologists
• regional cultural institutions
• academic students
• local associations
• communities and groups and individuals

I will try to answer the questions posed in the working papers:
• Form ICH02 as a fundamental tool for shared work between
institutions / professionals / Universities / Civil Society /
Schools
• We are now working to write National Guidelines for
application of ICH Convention with section dedicated to
Education
• Good relationships by individuals
• Sharing experiences by professionals also working in
contiguous area, like “cultural diversity” (cfr. OMC Groups by
EU, and Reports) or the others International instruments, like
Convention of Faro (2005) leaded by Council of Europe
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR KIND ATTENTION

17. Two levels of Inventory
• Inventory card, has 4 important items
• DEFINITION OF CULTURAL ELEMENTS
• WRITING ABOUT THE CARD
• LOCALIZATION : GEOGRAFICAL- ADMINISTRATION
• OCCASION /RECURRENCE
• Cataloguing card (more articulated – it needs a scientific study, a very good
documentation, and a cooperation in field work between Researchers and Communities)
If you are interesting about http://www.iccd.beniculturali.it
http://www.iccd.beniculturali.it/index.php?it/254/beni-etnoantropologici
•The desiderability of adhering more closely to the requirements of the Unesco
Convention, including its requirements that the communities themselves
partecipate, suggested the adoption of an alternative tool, more responsive and
lightweight, which is currently under development by ICCD as MODI.
