given, starting with first grade, in the year 2001,
second grade and so on; and in 2006 the
secondary part was created starting with the
seventh year.
9. CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
English language acquisition
It has become a must in the current world. Involves many
aspects and factors that will enhance or ban the correct
learning. The development of new strategies and
methodologies allows to achieve better results, but still
there are some other elements that become obstacles in
the intention of being bilingual. The acquisition of a second
language is not as natural as the first language, and the
first language often interferes in the acquisition of a foreign
language.
10. EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM
MEP (2013:114), states that: The large number of individuals
who speak English either as their first or as a second or
foreign language justifies the fact that English is considered a
universal language.
The educational system in Costa Rica is intended to promote
bilingual students in order to produce qualified professionals
for the future. But the methodology and evaluation exhibits
English as an academic subject rather than as a language,+
and encourages students to run after a grade and an exam
instead of pursuing language skills.
11. NEUROEDUCATION
Neuroeducation is a new vision of teaching based on the
brain.
Neuroeducation is to take advantage of the knowledge about
how the brain works integrated with psychology, sociology and
medicine in an attempt to improve and enhance both the
processes of learning and memory of students and teaching
better in teachers.

of the elements and the events that take part during
the regular interaction of the community.
Exploratory research: directed to a more detailed
investigation, in which the causes for the phenomena
that occur in a specific area of study are studied.
13. APPROACHES OF THE RESEARCH
QUALITATIVE: Observation of the classroom
phenomena in their everyday development.
QUANTITAVE: Analysis of the data found in the
instruments in regards to percentages.
MIXED: Analysis of the percentages and numerals
considering the context of the classroom
phenomena.
14. SUBJECTS OF INFORMATION
Subjects of this investigation will be the 10th
graders in ABC Educational Center, in Grecia,
Alajuela.
The English teachers who work in this
institution will also be subjects in the inquiry.
15. SOURCES OF INFORMATION
