3. History
Built in 1833 by Jean Baptiste Messmer the Maison Messmer was
host for European noble gentry and artists of high reputation. During
the late 19th century the hotel‘s legendary reputation was crowned by
regular visits of the German Emperor Wilhelm I and his wife Empress
Augusta. He was regular guest for more than 40 years.

Located in the very heart of the city, the hotel is in immediate
vicinity of the world famous Casino Baden-Baden, Kurhaus,
theatre and luxury shopping alleys. Historical city and pedestrian
zone are just a minutes walk from the hotel. Public parking
garage underneath the hotel offers plenty of parking space for
vehicles.

Museum Sammlung Frieder Burda
Built by famous New York architect Richard Meier and
directly linked to the Kunsthalle Baden-Baden the
museum opened its doors in Ocotber 2004 to the
public, showing 20th century expressionism of
distinction.
Congress Hall Baden-Baden
Built in 1995 the congress hall is located in the very
heart of Baden-Baden, just a 3 minutes walk from the
Maison Messmer. It caters for congresses and
conventions for up to 1000 pax.
