Eyes
Smoky eyes are intense in tone, but they
don’t have to be your standard neutrals.
“Keep to one colour and just vary the degree
of intensity. If the eyes are your focus,
then use diluted versions of the same colour
for the cheeks and lips,” says Genevieve
Meneyan, Estée Lauder National Makeup
Artist. “Also, the red undertone makes this
an amazing colour for blue and green
eyes.” Her runway-to-real way tip: Rim the
waterline with a white eye pencil, and use a
black liner on the upper and lower lash line
to help create a soft Bordeaux glow.

She wasn’t talking about a new shade of grey but referencing deep reds—from claret to cranberry to garnet.
Makeup master Tom Pecheux also pushed Bordeaux lips and eyes at Anthony Vaccarello. The effects of these deep
shades weren’t severe; instead, they translated into painterly visions of modern ladies with a romantic edge.
