3. PRODUCTION CAPABILITIES
All production is done in Varanasi and completely
handmade.
Besides the standard sizes, we are happy to work with
customer specific sizes.
HANDTUFTED carpets : 10,000 sqm/month
HANDWOOVEN carpets : 10,000 sqm/month
HANDKNOTTED carpets : 2,000 sqm/month
HANDLOOM carpets : 10,000 sqm/month
Quality raw material is procured centrally and after
preparation it is sent to our weaving centers.
Production is monitored and inspected on a regular basis.
Finishing and packing as per client requirements are all
done in-house.
Production lead times depend on quality/ design/ weave.
We request 10 – 12 weeks for new orders.

4. TRADE SHOWS
The company has been taking part in various trade
shows in India and overseas.
We have been exhibiting at Ambiente/ Messe
Frankfurt, Germany since 1997.
At our permanent mart at the India Exposition
Centre, Greater NOIDA, we exhibit in all the
shows.

5. RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT
AND DESIGN CAPABILITIES
The company has a strong in-house research and
development team.
We also collaborate with designers and design
studios both overseas and in India for fresh ideas
or specific projects.
We travel extensively and also walk various shows
and high streets for a better understanding of the
market and trends.
We do year round product development working
with new weaves and materials and constantly
innovating with evolving trends. We now have
over 40 catalogues with products and designs to
choose from.

6. INFRASTRUCTURE
Factory:
Located in Village Lohta ,Varanasi.
Plot size is in excess of 5000 sq m
Production and Warehouse area in excess of 3500 sq m
Design Studio & Sales Office:
The design studio and sales office are in Sector 83,
Noida on a plot size of 800 sq m
Permanent Showroom:
There is a permanent showroom at the India Expo
Center, Greater Noida

7. CERTIFICATIONS
The company is Good Weave and Woolmark
certified.
Our production has been Good Weave / Rugmark
certified for more than 15 years now.
We are a socially compliant company.
We are Woolmark certified and can provide
Woolmark certified products on specific customer
requests.

8. OUR CUSTOMERS
Over the years, the company now works with various
retailers, mail order houses, importers, wholesalers and also
design studios doing bespoke / custom designs.
Business distribution is as follows:
40 % Europe
20 % North America
40 % Middle East / Japan / Australia / Africa
We are working with various mail order houses in
Germany: K Mail (Klingel & Wenz), Otto, Car Mobel,
Impressionen, MiaVilla, Mirabeau & Zoeppritz.
We are vendors to Designers Guild (UK), Hemtex
(Sweden), Sissy Boy (Netherlands).

10. HISTORY & CURRENT MANAGEMENT
Mahajan Carpets is a partnership organization. The partners
have been in the business since 1977 and the firm Mahajan
Carpets was established in 1989.
The business was established by Mool Raj Kishore, who
retired from the the army to join the expanding family business
in Panipat.
In 1974 he began travelling to Varanasi to source jute wall
hangings.
Subsequently an office and thereafter a factory was set up to
produce wall hangings from the Varanasi belt. Over the years
the company also started manufacturing rugs and carpets.
In 1989 Mahajan Carpets was incorporated . The company is
now managed and owned completely by the family of Mool
Raj Kishore.
Three members of the family are actively involved in the day
to day running of the business.
Toshak Vaid looks after the sales.
Priyanka Vaid is the design lead and they
both work out of Noida office.
Gavesh Vaid is responsible for production
and works out of the Varanasi factory.
