Dr. Rivas is currently Head of IP & Portfolio Management at Boston Biomedical in Cambridge. Prior to his move to Cambridge, Tony was a member of Amgen's IP Group in South San Francisco, supporting projects in the area of metabolic disorders, and was the leader of Amgen's SENSIPAR-MIMPARA Law Product Team. He was also responsible for managing the South San Francisco Legal Department. Before his tenure at Amgen, he was the lead patent attorney for Merck’s therapeutic franchise in the area of Women’s and Men’s Health, which includes the blockbuster drug, FOSAMAX, for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis.
