I chose to talk about Kerrang as I find this genre of music easy for me to write as I enjoy this genre of music.

1. House Styles- Karrang Magazine
A house style is when a company’s own design which is used
in all its products, including packaging and stationery
The magazine I chave chosento anaylse is
Kerrang. Kerrangs use their covering line on the
left hand side of the magazine and this is
apparent in every magazine they publish and
sometimesit may be just a decsriptionor
sometimesa picture or the artist or the topic
they are talking about.
Another house style Kerrang use is how their
masthead is designed as in each edition, the
designof the masthead looks as though it is
cracked and damaged which relates to the
masthead as Kerrang is the sound a broken
guitar.
The cover of a rock themed magazine always
has a lot of things happening on it and this
relates to the genre and how it is not meant to
be mellow and calm but instead is meant to be fast pased and
choatic in its nature.

2. In addition to the other house styles, Kerrang always use direct
address as a way of gaining the attention of the audience as they
will be drawn to the main images eyes and forced into eye contact
which will entice them into wanting to read what the magazine
says. The main image is also covering the masthead in every
cover which has become a house sytle due to popularity of the
magazine the masthead doesn’thave to be behind the masthead.
