every day situation reports from the Field
Army Command for the emperor
For the first time we will present the war diary of the
Austrian General Karl Schneller and the everyday
situation reports from the Field Army Command for the
emperor.
Each day we will confront the text of the diaries with
the situation reports. From the beginning of the war till
the end in 1918. We offer the inside knowledge of a
high ranked general in contrast with the official
reports.

Notas do Editor
Children in Cetinje (Montenegro) selling devaluated money to Austrian soldiers as a souvenir.
What would you expect from an Archive to do? Of course to publish a book... We called it „Papierkrieg“ (Paperwar)
Then we thought: One book is not enough! So we did an inventory about all Ego Documents (i.e. Memoirs, Diaries, War Letters from people who were involved in the war. They represant people like the Chief of the general Staff Conrad von Hötzendorf, Leopold Count Berchtold, the Foreign minister in 1914 and the simple soldiers who were serving in the army
The trench because of the War exhibition in Vienna 1916 were the public could also visit a trench. The crosses with the pictures remind on a publication called „The fields of honor“ which should consist of all dead soldiers of the monarchy. After the deat toll has risen so high that no one could follow any more the publication was cancelled.
