RESOURCES
19. CHALLENGES
Balancing education, makerspace membership and
design and fabrication in a way that reaches a
profitable bottom line while employing all the
necessary people to keep the space functioning.
“ “
20. CHALLENGES
Creating a community that sees continued value in our
space. That requires people to build up their knowledge
regarding tools and processes to a minimum and
maintain a commitment or interest in different projects.
“ “
21. CHALLENGES
Educating the community on what a makerspace is, why they would
use it, and getting them to actually show up. Now that we have
been open a year, and have spent two years really trying to expose
our city to what we offer, we are seeing a shift in usable interest (i.e.
people not just saying "That sounds cool", but people saying "That
sounds cool, and I'm going to sign up for a class right now!").
