2. What is Battle of the Books?
Battle of the Books is a voluntary academic
contest open to all sixth through eighth grade
students.
Beginning in December, students read 8 out of
32 Battle books and form a team of four.
However, the more books each team-member
reads pasted the required 8, the greater the
chance they will win the competition.

3. What is Battle of the Books?
After reading each book, students complete a
journal sheet, which includes a summary of the
book and 5 practice questions like those used in
the competition.

4. What is Battle of the Books?
In the spring, students will compete with their
four-member team to become the Battle of the
Books champions from Grove.
Please note that once you have committed
to become a part of a team you may NOT
quit.

In April, the winning team from each school
competes against each other to become the city
champions.
