2. WHO ARE TARRANT MAKERS?
Organization: the Tarrant County Maker Community Foundation is
a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2012 to create and improve
local educational and entrepreneurial experiences
Community: artists, programmers, hardware hackers and “do-it-
yourselfers” of all kinds
3. WHAT IS OUR VISION?
To be a community of makers supporting member and public education, innovative
projects, and one or more member-accessible workshops (aka makerspaces). We will
accomplish this by staying on top of technological advances and will implement all
programs with consideration for life enhancement and environmental sustainability
Through the support of our sponsors and mentor members, and using grassroots
approaches, we put tech in the reach of anyone, and aim to fill in gaps in existing public
education and corporate learning approaches by following concepts like STEAM
8. WHAT WE NEED NEXT
Civic Support.
Now that we are gaining commercial sponsors and gathering momentum,
Tarrant Makers would like to add municipalities to our partners, in the areas of:
• Collaboration
• Guidance
• Promotion
• Gathering and work spaces
9. WHAT WE WILL PROVIDE
Experiences.
Tarrant Makers will put our cutting-edge skills and knowledge to work for the
benefit of our community. We will connect the public, particularly K-12
students, with emerging technologies by providing:
• Accessible demonstrations
• Examples of STEAM educational and industry best practices
• Mentorship
• Opportunities to meet, share and develop
• Fun!

11. BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER
To achieve our goals, in addition to contributing our own “sweat equity”, Tarrant
Makers will continually pursue grassroots fundraising, in-kind donations, corporate
giving and partner provisions
In turn, we will do our part to connect interested Tarrant County residents with
leading-edge opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and
Mathematics. We will do this anywhere and everywhere, but plan to one day
establish our own Resource Center
