9. E1 Page Layout Summary and Benefits
TAC has 29 Classic E1 Pages, now re-created as Composed Pages in 9.2.
All layouts include color coding and icons (new Images UDOs) to identify inquiries,
entry applications, reports and custom processes such as excel uploads and bank
interfaces.
We also have custom images to identify if pages contain a UPK link for training
purposes.
Using pages cuts down on the need for managing a large number of favorites and the
difficulty of finding the right process on a menu.
The pages available to our users assist in the different process flows so that users don't
miss or skip a part of the process.
By showing the entire process flow, users readily see the next step in the process,
steps that they don’t have permissions for and provide quick links for training.

10. AR Invoice Entry
This page contains all of the components required by our business for custom invoice entry.
Having a visual representation is much more preferred than clicking through a menu. Consistent
images assist in locating inquiries, entry applications and reports. The ? Indicates a UPK is
available.

javascript, JSON and SOAP service calls we are
emailing the user a BI Publisher Interactive
report or UBE driven report that is branch plant
limited to their email in the address book.

• Don't judge a book by its cover! Our E1 page

page but using HTTP servlet requests, java,
javascript, JSON and SOAP service calls we are
emailing the user a BI Publisher Interactive

limited to their email in the address book.
20
21. Description of Benefits
• We use BI Publisher interactive to create a lot of our reporting and through the Fusion middleware the
user permissions as well as JDE inherited branch plant row level security is not possible. There is no
link between a JDE user and a BIP fusion middleware user(except to pass a password), so MCU
security is out of the question. So based on the user logged in, we are getting their assigned Branch
Plants and utilizing the BIP SOAP service API we are passing the parameters needed to email the
report to the user.
• Limits the users created in BI Publisher
• Simplifies our BIP catalog
• Only one system, everything can be done from within JDE
• User doesn’t need to keep session alive while report is running(16 minute BIP default)
• BAs maintain UDC list without CNC involvement
• One stop shop E1 page; with reports and UBEs permissioned only for that user

• Where are we?
Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) currently has one of the largest JD Edwards workshops. As a part of the ongoing
major Business Transformation project (1ADM), we started implementing JD Edwards across multiple Businesses.
40
41. E1 Page Layout Summary
• What are we doing?
As part of the Business transformation, better user experience is always a top priority. We always considered end user adapting to the new
system/software as a major element for the success of the project. So, we focused on the first step i.e. User navigation.
• How did we do?
Our focus was simple – How could we make the end user life simpler & better?
So, we began exploring, and came-up with the idea of utilizing E1 pages. We wanted to minimize the efforts and attain better User Experience –
And, we want the solution to be robust, and not limited to the current audience, but also to the upcoming Businesses on JD Edwards.
As majority of the end users were from Plant Operations, we prepared the Process based flow diagrams which cuts through the day-in-a-life of
the end user. Came up with an idea of building the pages by Business process (Plan to Deliver) Vs by domain areas Sales, Manufacturing,
Inventory, Quality /Transportation.
And we are continuing our efforts in similar manner on other Business process areas of Acquire to Retire, Prospect to Cash etc.
41
42. Description of Benefits
• We now have approx. 700+ users utilizing these E1 pages
• They don't need to toggle between multiple menu's from Sales to Inventory to Manufacturing to Quality -They now have
one single screen/single click through which they could perform their day in a life for the Plant Operations & Plant
Maintenance.
• Process based E1 pages are benefitting the end users to attain the overall picture/ the system landscape - and the
adaptability of it was pretty quick as this provided a fantastic graphic user interface, making the user understand the
whole processVs just the one step that he/she was doing before.
• We currently are utilizing CaféOne, Personalized forms etc. to improve the User experience.
• We are exploring the benefits of Orchestrations, Composed pages, Watchlists etc. which provides a better platform in
success of the Digital Business transformation ahead of us.

Main screen, containing flag buttons to each company.
Visible are the three companies located within the Netherlands and two in Poland.
The General E1 pages section shows two links to the Service Desk and ERP Documentation (external web applications).
Each home page per company is identical set up, on the top the link to the main screen and the external Service Desk and ERP Documentation applications.
The business processes show the different modules in general used by this company, linking to the different E1 pages.
Each business process E1 page shows the main processes within this area.
For the specific user, applications can be secured as shown in this picture (greyed out buttons).
The yellow button at the right bottom allows the user to jump back to the company home page.
The structure for setting up E1 pages per company is identical in one Task View: E1 Pages
First level, definition of the company
Second level, different used modules within the company (system code in front)
Third level, list of applications defined on the E1 page
A new company is easily defined by copying an existing one.
E1 pages and the navigator (E1 Pages) are secured per role, for example PY Bonamat Sweden is only showing the related E1 pages and thru fine cut the navigator company tasks.
By defining multiple roles to a user, more E1 pages will become visible.
The main E1 page is open on *PUBLIC
