2. CONFERENCE PRESENTATION
The European Regulation 1924/2006 and its subsequent modifications on “Nutritional and Health Claims”
have a very ambitious target in terms of improving health of European consumers by empowering them
through claims based on generally‐accepted scientific data.
The protagonists in the implementation of this Regulation are the food and food ingredients industries as
it is for them to elaborate the relevant claims and make use of them in association with food marketing for
the benefit of their customers.
This Conference is a major International event for the interested Parties intending to take an active and
responsible role in contributing to the implementation of such a Regulation, while pursuing their
legitimate economic interests. The Conference, to be held with a simultaneous translation English/Italian,
with the participation of representatives of competent European and Italian decision‐making as well as of
research and academic Institutions and Associations of food Companies, is mainly aimed at providing a
clear perspective of the status of implementation and the ongoing adaptations of Regulation 1924/2006.
