Dissertation-Civil Society and Broad Based Development in Mberengwa.
The research aimed to ascertain the impact and influence of civil society
particularly NGOs in influencing broad based development in the rural district
of Mberengwa. The research was prompted by the lack of effectiveness of NGO
funded projects in promoting broad based development. The reason for
undertaking the study was to identify the role of NGOs in the promotion of
broad based development and policy making process, to find out what causes
their ineffectiveness as well as identifying their weaknesses, challenges and
capacity in influencing broad based development.
