2. ROBITUSSIN DEFINITION: Generic name is guaifensen. Guaifensin is an expectorant. It helps loosen congestion inyour chest and throat, making it easier to cough out through your mouth. WARNINIG SIGNS: You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to guaifensen. Use this medication exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Do not give this medication to a child younger than 4 yrs. old

3. SIDE EFFECTS: Dizziness or headache Rash; or Nausea, vomiting, or stomach upset.

4. BENADRYL DEFINITION: Generic name is diphenhydramine. Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine that blocks the effect of the naturally occurring chemical hitamine in the body. WARNING SIGNS: Do not take diphenhydramine if you have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxazid (Marplan) Phenelzine (Nardil). Or tranylcypromine (parnote) inthe kast 14 days.

5. SIDE EFFECTS: Sleepiness, fatigue, or dizziness Headache Dry mouth; or Difficulty urinating or an enlarged prostate.

6. MUCINEX DEFINITION: Generic name guaifenesin (oral route). Guaifenesin is used to help clear mucus or phlegm (pronouced flem) from the chest when you have congestion from a cold or flu. WARNING SIGNS: Do not give any over-the-counter cough and cold medicine to a baby or child under 4yrs of age using these medicines in very young children might causes serious or possibly life threatening side effects.
