In our first week of Decoding Digital we looked at digital leadership, what it is and why it’s important. With reference to the Digital Diagnostic, we discussed ways that Victorian businesses can move themselves toward digital leadership.

- Data.vic.gov.au as an example. Peter. Simon is from the policy aspect. Best examples from data.vic. Spacial data. Integrated with department of environments, spatial etc. Hosts data for other departments and agencies. Principle is vicmap, vicmapapi. Boundaries, area information. Bruce Thompson? – moved to DEPI. DEPI is reviewing spatial data in Victorian government – role and needs. Peter is on the working group for that piece. Example 1: Geomatic technologies has built a property report tool which is running out of DEPI but will be discontinued and Geomatic will be able to continue the service. E.g. PVT api has been released – app has been created. Therefore creates the further the ability of private sector to provide timetable information. Ie code for America model. Data is added to the use of the data – e.g. available to business for further development.
