My salutations to all pure souls,
…. [voice cut]
…because there, on the mountain, there is a collectivity of thousands and lacks of stones. You feel good
at a riverbank because there is a large collectivity of drops of water there. You feel good at the shore of
the sea because there is a large collectivity of drops of water. Because of that collectivity, we feel good
there.
Second, mountains do not think; a jungle does not think; a river does not think; the sea does not think.
Meaning that thoughts are a human disease. Nature does not have thoughts. Thoughts separate us from
the nature around us. The more you go in the presence of nature, you will experience that your
thoughts reduce. And if you go towards human settlements, you will feel the impact of thoughts and
thought pollution at every place.
Today, people from all over the world are gathered to talk about pollution. But they are only talking on
pollution from factories, oil, water, air. But all of these forms of pollution are not powerful on their own.
If there is a form of pollution that is the largest and strongest, it is thought pollution.
It spreads just like an infectious disease. Just like your neighbor thinks, you too start to get the same
type of thoughts after a while. Many times, you will see that when a friend comes to your house, you do
not know why you feel tension, stress or fear. Meaning, they do not present all their thoughts to you,
but the types of thoughts that they bring with them are important also.
Thoughts are also related to the body. Just now, in a conference for doctors a question was asked:
There are patients in a serious condition and even we (the doctors) do not know if he will survive, but he
somehow makes it through and survives; and on the other hand, there are patients who do not seem to
have any special disease, just a small illness, but they are not able to survive and we feel guilty for letting
them pass away due to such a small illness even though patients in more serious conditions are able to
survive.
The truth is that doctors only have knowledge of the physical body that can be touched and seen. They
can only treat the physical body. They cannot treat a person’s thoughts. They can only treat a patient’s
body but not his mindset and thoughts. That is why, if a person comes with negative thoughts, even if
his disease is minor, but if his mindset and thoughts are negative then, no matter how much the doctor
tries, the patient is not able to recover and he dies. What can the doctor do in this case? The doctor can
only treat the body. He cannot treat the patient’s mind. And on the other hand, a positive person, no
matter how ill he is, no matter how bad his health is, even if the doctor’s think of his case as being
serious and he won’t survive, but he still recovers.
That is why I explained to the doctors that only half the role is yours. You are only a medium. You
neither make a person ok nor do you take him towards death. Nothing is in your hands. You only have
knowledge of the body. So you should treat them at the level of the body and not keep any
expectations. Just put in your best effort. Then you will get the satisfaction that you have put in your
best efforts. Then if he survives or not it will be ok and you will not feel guilty because you have tried the
2. best you could. That is why I explained to the doctors that not everything is in your hands. You should
just try and not have neither guilt or ego. Be balanced. Not everything is in your hands, thoughts have a
large influence on the patient’s recovery, and you are not able to do anything about their thoughts.
Next, by meditating it is not as if you will not have any problems or issues in your life. They will come. As
you have the body, you have attachments, responsibility, relationships, and you will definitely
experience problems related to all of these. Since you have taken on a physical body, all of these will be
there. But if you join with Dhyan and meditation, you will not feel the impact of these. An ordinary man
collapses under small issues, but you will not. Because you will gain the power of tolerance and
acceptance. Then no matter what situation Parmatma places you in, you are able to accept it and you do
not complain. Due to this, a person who meditates is able to remain happy.
A normal person who does not practice dhyan, meditations, does not stay close to the soul, does not
stay in the company of his soul and is filled with body consciousness (sharir-bhav), he gets sad over small
things. That is why if a problem is troubling you a lot, then it means that you are very attached to your
body. If you are not attached to your body and are close to your soul, then you will not experience any
problems. The problems will be there, but you will not feel it and this is just as good as the problem not
being there.
For example, if your knee is paining and if you are linked more to your body, then you will go around
telling people about it and you will attract the negative chitta of others towards yourself. This will just
make your knee pain worse. It is better if you simply don’t tell anyone. Instead, just don’t pay attention
to it. The more body consciousness you have, them ore you will feel the problems of the body; and if
you don’t have the body consciousness, even if is hurting, you will not feel it.
That is why I feel that in old-age Dhyan/meditations is the easiest solution. We will still face the
problems of the body, but we will not say that our knees our hurting, our back is hurting etc. All of these
things will definitely happen with age. These are just signs of living. You just need to increase your
tolerance and reduce your body consciousness. Then you will have issues of the body, but you won’t feel
them. The easiest way to reduce your body consciousness is to increase your soul consciousness. In
front of the 6-inch body consciousness line, you just need to draw a longer, 2-feet soul consciousness
line.
What is in our hands is to increase our soul consciousness and body consciousness will reduce by itself.
