This document discusses mapping the landscape of interoperability standards to inform and educate users. It proposes a web-based, curated portal to monitor the development, evolution, and adoption of over 220 metadata standards, 115 terminologies, and 548 guidelines across life and biomedical sciences. The portal would link related standards and indicate their status. This would help users understand how standards are used in databases and policies, promote adoption, and highlight the fragmentation of standards across domains. The goal is to enhance findability and encourage modularization of standards to enable data integration.
