UiPath WorkFlow
Sequences
These are the smallest type of workflow. These are suitable to linear processes as these enable you to go from
one activity to another seamlessly, and act as a single block activity. One of the key features of sequences is
that these can be reused time and again, as a standalone workflow or as part of a state machine or flowchart.
Ex: Create a sequence to take information from a .pdf file and add it to a spreadsheet, and reuse it in a
different setting, while changing just a few properties.
Flowcharts
It can be used in a variety of settings, from large jobs to small projects that you can reuse in other workflows.
The most important aspect of flowcharts is that, unlike sequences, these present multiple branching logical
operators, that enable you to create complex business processes and connect activities in multiple ways.
A state machine
It is a type of workflow that uses a finite number of states in its execution. It can go into a state when it is
triggered by an activity, and it exits that state when another activity is triggered.
Another important aspect of state machines are transitions, as these also enable you to add conditions based
on which to jump from one state to another. These are represented by arrows or branches between states.
There are two activities that are specific to state machines, namely State and Final State, and they are found
under Workflow > State Machine.

1.Reduce effort in the back office
Client-Retail Company
A retail Company was using its store closing reports to validate closing information for each of its
registers across hundreds of stores. The store’s employees used a manual and slow-moving process to
pull up these reports. By automating the process using our solution the store freed up its employees
to now focus on more customer-centric activities. The RPA robots now move the closing reports to
one server, then read and consolidate the needed information for the store’s closing reports.
2.Invoice Processing
Client- Car Manufacturer Company
The Car Manufacturer company managed in SAP and found that processing supplier invoices through
the system required a large number of manual interventions, in terms of reading, validating,
registering and posting invoices. Automation was first implemented in one of the accounts payable
(AP) teams, which processes approximately 2,000 supplier invoices every day.
Using the RPA automation in UiPath, the manufacturer can manage to almost completely eliminate
human intervention in the AP process. The robot logs into the necessary systems, reads the invoice
image, registers the invoice in SAP, performs all the necessary validation, including cross-checking
against other systems, and ultimately decides whether to post, park or block the invoice.
The company has gained significant benefits using the new process up and running. The time saved
that was previously spent on manual work is in the range of 65%-75%. The automation is fully
controlled, and sub-optimization is avoided.
3.Report and Compliance Process
Client- Healthcare Service Provider
A leading healthcare service provider was looking for a way to ensure that customer requests for the
reporting and compliance process get processed on time. Each day, more than 30 reports were
manually extracted from the CRM application, which supplied the information on open and closed
cases needed by associates to carry out their responsibilities. The process was manual, error-prone,
and time-consuming. Now a UiPath Robot automatically downloads those reports every day and also
triggers an email notification to an employee once the process is completed successfully. Automation
has improved accuracy rates to 100% and increased operational quality, and allowed for 100% time
savings.
