5. POHELA BOISHAKH
• Pohela Boishakh is the first day of the Bengali calendar.
• It is celebrated on 14 April.
• This day started Rabindranath Tagore song “Echo he Baishakh”
by Chhayanat Under the banyan tree at Ramna.

• It is a festival of food: many local preparations of Bengali Cuisine
like pithe are cooked and offered.

• It is one of the biggest religious festivals of the people of Hindu.

• People of Christians attending prayer in Church.
