Clock Reading at a Distance
When an observer looks at the Big Ben at a distance, he is looking
at the image of the clock some time in the past.

This is because light image from
the Big Ben takes time to reach
the observer, no matter how
short the distance or time is.
Time Lapse between Observer and Observed
𝑠 = 𝑐∆𝑡 or ∆𝑡 = 𝑠/𝑐

Clock Image Reading on Leaving Clock B
At the moment of the image of clock B leaves clock B, the two clocks show
the same time. However, the image of clock B does not change because it
is only an image of that instant. On the other hand, the real clocks keep
ticking as usual.

The image of B has to traverse a distance AB between A and B in order to
reach A. It takes a duration of ∆𝑡 = 𝐴𝐵/𝑐. Which means that the real
clocks have advanced a time of ∆𝑡 already as well.

This results in a difference of time between the real clock A and the image
of B. The time on the image is behind that of the real clock A. The
observer at A concludes that clock B is running slower than clock A.

Slower clock because of distance?
In fact, clock B is not slower. It is only the image that is behind real time.
