The document will follow a group of teenagers completing aspects of their bucket lists. It will explore the positives and negatives of creating bucket lists by interviewing the public. The documentary aims to teach young adults aged 17-25 about bucket lists through an entertaining format. There is potential for success as few other productions target this audience in this way. The budget of £11,600 will cover costs like cameras, editing, studio space, travel and accommodations for the two weeks of filming.
2. The idea
My idea is to create a fly on the wall documentary that will follow a group
of tenagers who are trying to complete aspects of their bucket list. Within
the documentary we will also be looking into the positives and negative of
creating a bucket list and will go out into the public to find out their
thoughts and opinions on the bucket list.
Why
So the question is why you should invest in me, well not only is my project
idea unique and interesting it is also fun. The Documentary will target a
large teenage audience and considering they are the high majority of film
and telvision watchers it means that the documentary is likely to be a huge
succes.
Target Audience
My target audience is aged between 17-25 year olds as we are trying to
teach young adults about the bucket list. We are trying to atract people
who are young, free, adventrous, don’t mind taking a risk and want to have
fun.
3. Competitors
In the UK the main channels that show documentaries aimed at the same
target audience as me are; BBC Three, Channel 4, Channel 5 and MTV.
Most of the documentaries made and shown on these channels are
indepedent film makers, they are usually created about body issue, holidays or
recent events in the news.
This has shown me that there is a high posibility of my production doing well in
the industry because there are not many productions with the same ethic for
my target audience.
