19. Movozox
Contains
Chlorzoxazone
Diclofenac Sodium
Paracetamol
Chlorzoxazone is a centrally acting agent for painful musculoskeletal conditions.
Site of Action: Root of the spinal cord and subcortical areas of the brain. It inhibits multi
synaptic reflex
area involved in producing skeletal muscle spasm. (Skeletal muscle spasm leads to
increased contractions
of skeletal muscle leading to painful inflammatory condition)
Chlozoxazone is reported to be completely absorbed after oral administration and
distributed throughout the
body. The peak plasma concentrations are achieved after 1 to 2 hours. It is rapidly
metabolized in the liver,
mainly to 6-hydroxy chlorzoxazone, and excreted in the urine primarily as the
glucuronide.
Rationale of combination of Diclofenac Potassium, Paracetamol & Chlorzoxazone in
Movozox Tablets
Diclofenac Sodium & Paracetamol have good analgesic, antipyretic & anti-inflammatory
actions while
Chlorzoxazone is good skeletal muscle relaxant. Thus complete control of pain, spasm &
inflammation is
achieved.
20. INDICATIONS
Skeletal muscle spasms
DOSAGE
1 tablet 3 times daily.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
In moderate to severe hepatic impairment and hypersensitivity to chlorzoxazone &
pregnancy

24. Mucorex
Contain
Ambroxol
Mucorex Tablets
Ambroxol is kind of strong expectorant, clinically proven active mucolytic agent. Mucorex
helps to remove
sticky phlegm from the respiratory tract easily and quickly by enhancing the bronchial
secretions that
loosen congested phlegm. It also releases and strengthens tiny striking hairs inside the
windpipe and
bronchial tubes, which is referred to as the cilia , which can then expel the abnormal
phlegm with their
conveyor-belt like action. Ambroxol increases the body's production of surfactant which
helps to
overcome infection in the bronchi.
Composition
Each tablet contains Ambroxol Hydrochloride 30 mg.
25. Composition
Each tablet contains Ambroxol Hydrochloride 30 mg.
Uses
• It is used to relieve chronic inflammatory pulmonary conditions.
• It is used to treat bronchiectasis, bronchitis with bronchospasm asthma. During acute
exacerbations of bronchitis the medicine should be given with the appropriate antibiotic.
• Mucorex has local anesthetic properties which contribute to the soothing effect of the
syrup.
Dosage
• For adults, one Mucorex tablet (30 mg to 120 mg ) taken in 2 to 3 divided doses
• Children up to 2 years: 15 mg two times daily
• Children 2 - 5 years: 15 mg three times daily
• Children over 5 years: 30 mg two-three times daily.

27. Mucorex—B
Contains
Each 5 ml contains:
Terbutaline 2.5 mg
Ambroxol 30 mg
Guaiphenesin 100 mg
Menthol 2.5 mg
Terbutaline
It is a selective Beta 2 agonist with a longer duration of action than Salbutamol. This
long duration of action ensures a good night's sleep, which is not interrupted by
wheezing during early hours. Higher closes of Terbutaline should be used with caution
in patents with cardiovascular disorders like hypertension, diabetes.
Guaphensin
It is an expectorant; it reduces the frequency and intensity of cough.
Ambroxol
It is a potent Mucolytic and Mucokinetic agent, which breaks down the thick mucus and
also helps in expelling it out.
as on obstruction to
the free now of air, leading to cough reflex.
28. Bronchospastic Cough
Various disorders of respiratory tract including infection and/or mechanical or chemical
irritation cause bronchospasm (Constriction of bronchi) which causes cough. Initially the
cough is nonproductive but slowly turns to productive cough with thick mucus.
· Pneumonia - severe inflammation of lungs due to bacterial infection associated
with coughing.
· Atelectasis - airless state of part of lung or lungs due to bronchial obstruction
leading to cough.
· Whooping cough - bacterial infection seen in infants and children and is
associated with spasmodic, prolonged and high pitched cough.
· Asthma - au toimmuno disorder. In severe from it is associated with
bronchospasm and persistent cough with mucus.
The problem is :
Inadequate ventilation due to
· Broncho-constriction
· Presence of mucus in the respiratory tract which acts
29. The remedy
· Restoration of smooth flow of air either by
· Dilation of the airway (relief from bronchospasm)
Or
· Removal of mucus
· Reduction in frequency of cough
Nervous control of cough
Nervous system controls our body. Nervous system is divided into autonomic nervous
system. The function of autonomic nervous system are mediated through nerves.
Nerves are of two types. Adrenergic and Cholinergic nervous.
The Adrenergic nerves liberate adrenergic receptors and those for acetlycholine are
called cholinergic receptors.
Adrenergic receptors are of two types viz. Alpha-receptors and Beta-receptors. When
adrengergic receptors are stimulated the effects produced are increase in blood
pressure, dialation of pupil, relaxation of bronchial muscles.
The beta-adrenergic receptors are of three types viz. Beta 1 Beta 2 and Beta 3
receptors. Beta 2 receptors are predominantly present in the lungs. When Beta 2
receptors are stimulated they relax the bronchial muscles. There are various drugs that
stimulate the Beta 2 receptors and cause relaxation of bronchial muscles like
Salbutamol, Terbutaline.
Indications
· Acute and chronic bronchitis
· Bronchial asthama
· Atelectasis
· COPD
