General Theory of Relativity is the geometric theory of gravitation published by Albert Einstein in 1915 and the current description of gravitation in modern physics.
2. Theory of Relativity into two parts
1.The first is the Special Theory of Relativity, which essentially deals with the
question of whether rest and motion are relative or absolute, and with the
consequences of Einstein s conjecture that they are relative.
2.In 1905, Albert Einstein determined that the laws of physics are the
same for all non-accelerating observers, and that the speed of light in a
vacuum was independent of the motion of all observers.
3. In Global Postioning Satelite(GPS) general relativistic corrections are
needed to accurately predict the satelite's clock which ticks slower in
orbit.Without it you GPS would be of by at least 10 km with the
corrections you can predict position within 5-10 meters.
Real Life Application of Relativity
4. Strength Of Theory Of Relativity
A. General relativity applies to all speeds, while special relativity
applies only to speeds near the speed of light.
B. General relativity is exactly the same as special relativity. The
adjective "general" is used when the theory of relativity is applied to
the universe as a whole.
C. General relativity applies to all observers, while special relativity
applies only to nonaccelerated observers.
5. Limitations Of Theory of Relativity
A.General Relativity Does Not Respect Local Energy-Momentum.
B.General Relativity Predicts Space-Time Singularities.
C.General Relativity Failed to Be Quantized.
