A New Way to Present
http://smnorth.smsd.libguides.com/Animoto
Animoto allows teachers and students to create video presentations online with no additional software needed. All
you have to do is choose your photos, videos and text, add music (either your own or from Animoto’s list), and wait
a few minutes while your video is finalized. You also may embed your video easily into any webpage or blog,
download a video for in-class presentations, post to YouTube, or email it.
For a Quick-Access Account, go to www.animoto.com.
Register for a new account (using personal email, if possible) to enable you to make short videos.
Educational Account sign up is at: http://animoto.com/education
It may take a few days to get the educational account verified. After 6 months, you may have to sign up for your
account again as it will expire. (See below for more info).
Follow these easy steps:
1. Upload photos or videos by using images of your own,Animoto’sstock photos or import photos from Flickr,
Picasa, Photobucket, Instagram or Facebook, or Learn360. You may add text, reorder items and spotlight
images to make them more prominent in your presentation.
2. Animoto has a huge collection of music for you to use. You may also upload music of your own (though keep
in mind copyright considerations).
3. Now let Animoto do the work for you. Give your video a title and decide the speed of your video. Then
submit your video for processing, which can take several minutes. When your video is finished, you may go
back and edit or remix it. You may also download, email, and embed the final product.

Animoto Educational Accounts
The education version of Animoto allows you to make unlimited number of slideshows that are not restricted
in length and you may sign students up to do the same. Register at: http://animoto.com/education/
for the All-Access Account. Your confirmation email may take a few days. You will receive an activation code
for your account that you may use to set students up with their own account.Even though you may get a
notice that the account expires after 6 months, I’m told teachers may sign up for another free edu account.
There’s an App for That…
Animoto has free iPhone and iPad apps. You do not have all the tools you do online (such as adding text), but
you may upload photos and videos from your phone and then email your final video.
