15. The 2018 FIFA__________Cup will be the 21st FIFA World Cup, a __________ international football
tournament played by the men’s national __________ of the member associations of FIFA
It will take place in __________ from the 14th June - 15th July 2018 after this country was awarded the
hosting rights on 2 December 2010. This will be the first World Cup held in __________ since 2006. A
total of 64 __________ will be played in 12 venues located in 11 __________. The final will take place on
15th July in __________ at the Luzhniki Stadium.
For the first time in the history of the FIFA World Cup, all eligible nations - the 209 FIFA member
associations, minus automatically qualified hosts Russian - entered the __________ process. Notable
countries that failed to qualify include four-time champions __________ (for the first time since 1958)
and 2014 third place finishers Netherlands.
The draw was held on the 1st December 2017 at the State __________ palace in Moscow. The 52 teams
were drawn into eight groups of four. For the draw, the teams were allocated to four pots based on
the FIFA World __________ of October 2017.
Each team must name a preliminary squad of 30 __________. From the preliminary squad, the team
must name a final squad of 23 places (three of whom must be goal keepers) by the FIFA deadline.
Players in the final squad may be replaced due to serious __________ up to 24 hours prior to kickoff of
the team’s first match, where the replacement players do not need to be in the preliminary squad.
The __________ Stadium will host the second semi-final on 11th July and the final on 15th July.
