  4. 4. Contact changes to the Old World • Queen Isabella struggled with the decision on either to let the conquistadors bring over slaves and sell them off. • Spain was bringing over new things over to Americas. • Queen Isabella didnt believe in Slaves, but had them in her own home.

How Contact Changed the New World • The main thing that was brought over from Europe was their religion. • Spaniards adopted La Virgen de Guadalupe to their religion since it was an important icon in the culture of the Natives and would allow them to continue to worship her. • To maintain the Spaniard’s wealth, power, and identity in the New World, the Spanish created a caste-like system
