3.Cylinder-Flatzone:Thesmalltuftsarethentransferredtocylinder-flatzoneand
openedupintoindividualfiberwhichisdefinedastheactualcardingprocess.Here
pointsareinfacetofacearrangement.Nepsareremovedinthiszone.Theflats
comprise80-116individualcardingbarscombinedintoabeltmovingonanendless
pathandapprox.30-50flatsareactivetothemaincylinder.Therestareonthe
returnrun.Duringthisreturn,acleaningunitstripsfibers,nepsandforeignmatter
fromtheflatbars.
4.Cylinder-dofferzone:Afterthecardingoperation,thecylindercarriesalongthe
fibersthatareopenedtosingleandlooseconditionaswellaslieparallelwithout
continuousstructure.Forthepurposeofformingacontinuousstructureofthe
cardedsinglefibersthedofferisrequired.Thedoffercombinesthefibersintoaweb.
