1. FMP 2 Diary Week 8
This week I started production of my FMP by filming three scenarios; a boy
and girl running into a bedroom and putting a 'Don't Disturb' sign on the
door, an old man warning a teenager of a slasher and a nerd getting his head
bashed in a computer by the slasher Blanc Face. After all this, I edited them
together and I also updated my Experiments Power Point. I made the Shot
List and Storyboard longer. All these activities may have taken a long time
and I made several mistakes along the way, but it still went well. The filming
was difficult because only three people were managing everything which
meant a lot of acting and extra work than if I had more actors. Also, the
practical effects happened faster than the camera could film, but I overcame
this obstacle by adjusted the pace and timing of my filming. My first kill
scene went well because I may have researched gory kills, however, I never
got to do one before, but when I filmed the nerd getting his head crushed
with a laptop I got to make a creative tense kill with a close-up on the corpse
using fake blood. I used my college iPad to film everything and a lot of fake
blood from previous films to make practical effects. I then used iMovie to
edit everything together. I'm going to move forward by making my shot list
and storyboard a lot less long and reshoot the nerd scene to make it more
suspenseful. The strengths of my project are the well organised
scenario scenes I filmed thanks to a detailed shot list and story board along
with an opening that is made scary by a dark setting and creepy background
noise. The weaknesses of my project are that my shot list and storyboard are
too long so I'm going to have cut it down which also cuts content from my
film. My plan for next time is to film the scenes of characters who die first
and to finish off the scene that involves the licentious bad girl and her
boyfriend. This week's production influenced my ideas by showing me I need
to make my scenes longer to build suspense and this has changed my project
by making me add extra camera shots and scary music to my scenes.
